Production history
These recordings were collected between 29 June and 14 July 1999 by John Maynard while researching
the steel business in Newcastle, NSW and its association with Indigenous people who worked with
BHP. Interviewees include Robert Smith, Wayne Cotton, Norm Rose, Ray Kelly, Stan Masterson,
Andrew Hawkins, Arthur Priestley, Bill Buchanan, Dave Ruddle, Ian Cromarty, Bill Smith, Gordon
Taylor and Noel Allen. The collection was deposited with AIATSIS on 26 July 2013.
