Notice
Problems with some names appearing corrupted on the grade 1 recording
and reporting programme after downloading from CEMIS
•
NOT a fault with the programme itself, but rather a fault with the data
captured by the school on CEMIS.
• Identify which learner(s) are creating the problem by going to the grade 1
download page on CEMIS where all the learners names appear.
•
Click on “show all learners”. Look at the “Medium” column – a learner
who has “None” listed here, will create a problem with the programme. It
cannot be “None”.
Notice
(continue)
•
The school must FIRST fix the learner’s data on CEMIS – “Medium” is either
English, Afrikaans or Xhosa.
•
If a learner’s medium displays as “NONE”, the school will not be able to
download until all the learners languages has been fixed.
•
The school should first capture mother tongue and Lolt languages before they
do a bulk GET language update.
•
The programme and data file must then be downloaded again from CEMIS.
•
Schools who encounter problems in trying to correct this on CEMIS, must
contact the CEMIS / EMIS person at the district office to assist them.
