INVITATION FOR TENDER
PRINTING AND SUPPLYING OF SECONDARY SCHOOL TEXTBOOKS
TENDER No.: PA/070/2016/2017/G/ 08
1. The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received a Grant from Big Results
Now – Education Programme for Results (P4R) and it intends to apply part of the proceeds
of this Grant to cover eligible payments under the contract for printing and supply of
secondary school textbooks.
2. Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) now invites sealed tenders from eligible printers for
printing and supplying of these materials as tabulated below:

The above items constitute Two Lots and bidders shall quote for eitherLot I or Lot
2 separately. Award of the contract shall be considered to Only One Lot.
3. Tendering will be conducted through the National Competitive Tendering (NCT)
procurement procedures as specified in the Public Procurement Regulations, 2013 –
Government Notice No. 446 and is open to all Tenderers as defined in the Regulations.
4. Interested eligible Tenderers may obtain further information from and inspect the
Tendering Documents at the office of the Secretary of the Tender Board, Tanzania Institute
of Education, Plot No. 686, New Bagamoyo Road, Mwenge, P.O. Box 35094, Dar es Salaam
Tanzania from 0900 hours to 1600 hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive except on public
holidays.
5. A complete set of Tendering Document(s) in English and additional sets may be
purchased by interested Tenderers upon submission of a written application to the
address given under paragraph 4 above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of
TZS 150,000 (Tanzanian Shillings one hundred fifty thousand only). Payment should
either be by Cash or Banker’s transfer to Tanzania Institute of Education Account No.
22201100009 with National Microfinance Bank Ltd.
6. All Tenders must be accompanied by a Tender Securing of 2% of the tender price in an
acceptable form.
7. All tenders in one original plus two copies properly filled in, and enclosed in plain
envelopes must be delivered to the following address; Secretary of the Tender Board,
Tanzania Institute of Education, Plot No. 686, Administration Building, New Bagamoyo
Road, Mwenge, P.O. Box 35094, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania at or before March , 22nd , 2017
11:00 hours.
8. Tenders will be opened promptly thereafter in public and in the presence of Tenderers’
representatives who choose to attend in the opening at the Tanzania Institute of
Education, Plot No. 686, New Bagamoyo Road, Mwenge, Dar es Salaam specifically in the
Board Room, Ground Floor at the Administration Building.
9. Late Tenders, portion of Tenders, electronic Tenders, Tenders not received, Tenders not
opened and not read out in public at the tender opening ceremony shall not be accepted
for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances.
