1.
Artist: ALAN SOMERVILLE
Title: Aphelion
Medium: Bronze
Price S36,000
Artist Statement
As a figurative sculptor I aim to capture the essence of the
subject based on strong form. Movement, energy and emotion
are very important. I strive for these qualities in my work and
value them above absolute and anatomical correctness and over
worked highly detailed finishing which often destroys
spontaneity and feeling. Good art and sculpture should test the
viewers imagination. Aphelion is loosely based on the late ballet
dancer Nureyev. It is depicting one of his energetic flowing leaps.

Artist: Peter Lewis
Title of Work: Decadence
Medium: Cast Lead Crystal Glass
Price: $3,600
Artist Statement
This work is influenced by ancient Greek Sculptures of the nude
male body. The body worship of athletic young men in the Greek
Culture later influenced the art of the Roman Empire with all its
decadence. The use of crystal glass as a material in my work is
symbolic of decadence.
29.
Artist: Peter Lewis
Title of Work 'Sun Worship'
Medium: Miniature Bronze
Price: $1,950
26.
Artist: Jeffrey Frith
Title of Work: Mindstream
Medium: Sandstone
Price: $2,490.00
Artist Statement
This work is carved from windblown sandstone which results in
the grain size in the stone being so fine with no inclusions. The
maritime theme suggested itself as I was carving this piece
bringing back memories of pleasant hours walking by the sea at
low tide and exploring rock pools and the community of plants
and creatures that lived there. I am fascinated by the way water
eats away the rock while I have to use mechanical means to
shape and form the work.
28.

Tahmoor's Emmett Park in NSW.
30.
Artist: James Mapayi - Stone of Shona
Title of Work: Endless Journey
Medium: Springstone
Price: $3,250
Artist Statement
My inspiration for this work was influenced by images of the
ancient art of Mayan and Aztec civilisations as well sculptures of
the ancient Egyptians. The human figure here is contained within
a solid block form of a pyramid shape, narrowing as it rises to the
uplifted nose of a seated female figure. The title suggests the
strong religious beliefs these civilisations had with the sun god.
Artist Statement
As a Zimbabwean Shona artist my aim is to communicate
through my art that 'nothing which exists naturally is inanimate'
it has spirit and life of its own.

Artist: Vikki-Holik Blazley
Title of Work: 'Illusion'
Medium: Timber, steel & fibreglass
Price: $7,900
Artist Statement
Illusion is a life size yearling horse. My Passion of Art and Horses
has seen my series of timber horses emerge. I like to call them
wind - wood sculptures, as they are made from discarded wood
blowing on the wind, so I am, in a way recycling nature.
45.
Artist: Jeffrey Frith
Title of Work: Rainbow Warrior
Medium: Sandstone
Price: $2,900.00
Artist Statement
Sandstone is often regarded as being a relatively soft material
unless of course it has been pushed deep into the earth millions of
years ago. The heat and pressure applied by tectonic forces
creates a stone that is really hard. I was amazed to see quartz
embedded in the stone and sought to feature this layer in my
sculpture. The arching pastel colours of the minerals in this tough
rock reminded me of a rainbow a feature I enhanced by careful
shaping.
42.
Artist: Vikki Holik-Blazley
Title of Work: Harmony
Medium: Limestone
Price: $2,195
Artist Statement
This sculpture carved from limestone emits a feeling of calm a d
gentle harmony. In time it will show its age with gentle erosion
from the elements if left outside. Inside it will maintain its lovely
white smooth surface.

Artist: Jeffrey Frith
Title of Work: Vortex
Medium: Sandstone
Price: $2,490.00
Artist Statement
Apart from Granite this ‘sandstone’ is the hardest material I have
had to carve. Now I understand why this rock is mostly used to
build retaining walls. I worked the stone with an angle grinder
using a flush plate disc encrusted with industrial diamonds. A
labour of love. Not content with one side coming to life with
swirling shapes I sought to reproduce similar shapes on the other
side of the rock. Not an easy task but a rewarding one as the work
greats such a flow of energy.

Artist: Dan Moor

wire.
Price $15,000.
Artist Statement
This piece is the second in a series the art has created using one of
his daughters as inspiration. It is formed from two tree stumps,
believed to be Eucalyptus Blakeleyi.
