Hold a tea party to
suit your personality!
First things first – choose your theme.
Whether you are a fan of china cups and doilies or you’re a big
lover of chocolate, there’s a theme to suit everyone.
Here are our favourite ideas:
Exotic Teas – Be adventurous with those
taste buds and serve teas from around the
world combined with continental dishes.
Why not serve African Red Bush?
Purple – With purple being
the colour of epilepsy, we
suggest serving blackcurrant
tea, blueberry muffins
and all manner of purple
accompaniments.
Chocolate – Calling all chocoholics, head
down to your local sweet shop and stock
up on everything chocolate. Let’s be
honest, who wouldn’t like this theme?
Vintage – Go back in time
and create the perfect 1920s
party. Men grab your trilbies
and women practice your
Charleston.
Royal Tea – Serve your
guests posh teas, scones
and cucumber sandwiches,
and dig out all that jubilee
bunting to make this event fit
for a Queen.
Mad Hatters – Place ‘drink me’ labels
on the crockery and serve cakes in tea
cups to complete the Alice in Wonderland
theme. Just don’t go shrinking anyone.
Picnic Tea – Bake some
scones, make some
sandwiches and serve with
strawberries and jugs of juice
on a picnic rug in the garden
(or living room floor).
Why not go to town on your poster – as
well as adding all the information people
need to know such as where and when, you
could stick pictures, add stickers, use fancy
handwriting – whatever suits your theme!

Once you know the facts, use the poster to
promote your event and send out invitations
to your friends, neighbours and colleagues.

When, what time, where?
Raising money
Hold a Tea Party
to suit YOUR personality!
Will you charge for tickets, charge per cake
or cuppa, or ask for donations? Be sure that
guests understand how they can contribute.
Ask around your local shops and businesses
for prizes, and run a raffle for your guests.
Hold a competition to guess how many
coffee beans or tea bags are in a jar.
Ask guests to bring a cake or other dish to
suit the theme; charge to take part and ask
guests to vote for their favourite.
Aim to recruit one of your guests to hold the
next tea party in aid of Young Epilepsy and
help them decide on their theme.
Make sure you take lots of photographs
and post them on our Facebook page
