With its new HSC precision centres, DMG MORI sets benchmarks for a new dimension of
high-speed machining. Linear drives in all axes with accelerations of > 1 g, as well as
spindle speeds of up to 40,000 rpm ensure maximum dynamics and provide thermal
stability while enabling the shortest possible machining times, the best possible surface
quality with < Ra 0.15 µm and the highest level of component accuracy. Designed to cope
with demanding mould construction and micro/precision machining of complex components with elaborate geometries, the new HSC range offers the optimal manufacturing
solution for every application while maintaining high standards of quality.

Compact gantry design
with linear drives in all axes.
The HSC 30 linear is extremely compact with a footprint of just 4.2 m² and combines dynamism,
precision, compactness and stability in one high-tech machine tool. In addition to comprehensive
temperature management, linear drives in X / Y / Z with > 2g acceleration, and a motor spindle
with 40,000 rpm and HSK-E40 tool holder as standard produce the best possible surface quality
with Ra < 0.15 µm and the highest level of long-term accuracy.

HSC 70 linear
Top-of-the-range HSC precision
centre with 80 m /min rapid traverse.
The HSC 70 linear has a thermosymmetrical portal design that creates the perfect conditions for
chip removal and perfect balance of power regardless of spindle position. This ensures excellent
surface quality, in combination with the refined temperature management for the whole machine
and a consistently high level of precision in the range of a few microns, including in demanding
continuous operation. 5-axis operation is enabled via an NC-rotary table in combination with the
rotary A-axis behind the milling spindle. Spindle speeds of up to 18,000 rpm as standard guarantee
excellent, powerful milling performance, with an option to include spindles up to 40,000 rpm.

Innovative cooling concept for the highest
level of accuracy and surface quality.
In order to meet the high-level requirements in terms of surface quality and long-term accuracy in tool and mould construction, the thermosymmetrical design and an innovative cooling
concept ensure the highest level of component accuracy. This ensures that not only are the
linear drives cooled, but the frictional heat from the linear guides is also dissipated effectively.
Additional cooling strips on the Z-axis slideways guarantee consistent temperature of the
components. The shaft, flange and jacket cooling in the new HSC spindles reduces tool and
spindle growth by up to 70 % and guarantees the highest surface quality < Ra 0.15 µm.

All machines in the HSC generation are equipped with the ergonomic DMG ERGOline® control
with a 19" screen and are also available with the Operate 4.5 with Siemens 840D solutionline
and Heidenhain NC 640 across all series. The new ERGOline control panel with21.5" monitor,
Siemens and CELOS will be available from Q2 2014. Optionally, various exclusive software
cycles such as ATC, MPC, 3D quickSET® and DMG Virtual Machine are available, which are
