We are pleased that you want to become part of our shop. Here’s how it works:
We specialize in women’s clothing, shoes, jewelry, handbags, formalwear, outerwear,
collectibles, housewares, gift items and small pieces of furniture in new and like new condition.
*Condition of Merchandise*
Please make sure that your garments are freshly cleaned, pressed and on hangers with no
flaws. Please be aware of stains, holes or tears, seam separation’s, missing buttons, broken
zippers, deodorant stains, and animal hair. Labels need to be intact or cleanly removed.
Garments must be free of odors such as smoke, moth balls and cologne. Please inspect your
items prior to bringing them in to ensure a successful experience. This allows us to market your
items for the best possible price and provide the best quality product for our customers to shop!
All clothing must be in season (season listed on last page) Bathing suits and under garments will
only be accepted if the original tags are attached. Shoes must be like new or new condition.
Please understand that our customer’s preferences must be our selection guideline. The Ruffled
Closet reserves the right to make the final decision on consignments.
*Pricing of Merchandise*
All items will be priced and ticketed by The Ruffled Closet. Pricing consultation is welcomed but The
Ruffled Closet has final pricing authority. A General guideline for pricing is 30% to 60% off the original
retail price. In store sales will run periodically at The Ruffled Closets discretion. Coupons and incentives
may be offered to help sell items also. Price reductions will occur at 10% after 20 days, 35% after 30
days & 45% after 50 days. When the item moves to clearance it will be 50% off lowest sale price. We will
always strive to sell your items as quickly as possible!
*Term of Consignments*
Consignment period for all general merchandise is 90 days. Evening wear, fine jewelry, furs, designer
dresses, shoes and purses are consigned for 6 months. This time period begins after the merchandise is
put on the sales floor. After this time period the consignor may retrieve any unsold items within 7 days.
Please mark your calendars! There will not be any reminders sent out from us. If you give us at least 48
hour notice we will gather your items and have them available. If items are not retrieved within this 7
day time period the items become the property of The Ruffled Closet . Any unclaimed items that
become property of The Ruffled Closet may be sold, discounted and/or donated to local community
charities at our discretion. If you would prefer to donate your items at the end of term, please initial on
appropriate line below.
*Fees*
THE RUFFLED CLOSET retains 60% of the items selling price. The consignor retains 40% of the items
selling price. We are also offering the option of 50/50 split in the form of store credit. Please initial
appropriate line with signature.
A consignor’s incentive is also available. When your account reaches $1000.00 in sales you will receive
an increase of 45%. $1500.00 in sales will increase to 50%.
*Payments*
Payouts are available immediately after items are sold. You may call or stop in anytime during business
hours to see if you have a payout. You may also use your payout as store credit. We are expecting a
new addition to our software program that will allow you to view your account on line by end of June
2017, we will keep you posted when this is available.
The Ruffled Closet takes consignment very seriously and takes exceptionally diligent care of all
merchandise. However, we are not responsible for damage or loss of articles.
