RULES
1. In classes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 riders must be paid up members of the Pony Club.
2. The rules of the Pony Club Eventing 2017 will be applied throughout.
3. Hats must be to one of the following standards. PAS 015 1998 or 2011 (with BSI kitemark) VG1
with BSI Kitemark, Snell E2001 with the official Snell label and number, ASTM-F1163 2004a
with the SEI mark, AS/NZS 3838 1998, 2003 or 2006. Hats should be tagged with the PC white
hat tag or the BE red hat tag – either is acceptable.
4. For Cross-country riding over fences 80cm high and above a jockey skull cap with no fixed peak
must be worn. It is strongly recommended that a jockey skull cap is worn for cross country
riding over lower fences.
5. Body Protectors must be worn on the cross country course. The responsibility for choosing a
body protector rests with members and their parents. It is recommended that a rider’s body
protector should not be more than 2% of their body weight. Body protectors should now be at
least the BETA 2009 Level 3 standard (purple label). For further information, go to the Pony
Club website.
6. All competitors must report to the stewards 10 minutes before their dressage time, and 5
minutes before their cross country and show jumping times. Competitors withdrawing from
any phase are requested to tell the relevant steward and secretary.
7. Entries and the number of horses per rider may be limited.
8. All horses must be at least 5 years old.
9. NO CLAIM FOR ANY ACCIDENT TO PERSONS, HORSES OR PROPERTY CAN BE RECOGNISED BY
THE ORGANISERS OR THE OWNERS OF THE LAND.
10. NO REFUNDS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
11. Medical Arm Bands must be worn by all competitors on the cross country course
12. Competitors must supply their own number bibs.
13. No timing devices, stopwatches, helmet or bridle cams are allowed
HEALTH & SAFETY: The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to
ensure the heath and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective
everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring,
and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards.
