That’s why we want you to have comprehensive and specific information about our Certified Nurse Assistant program so that you can make informed decisions that help you to be successful. Our instructors: One of the unique features of the Gritman CNA program is that our instructors are Registered Nurses. They bring years of clinical experience to your instruction and will enrich your experience with their expertise and wisdom. Background check: All prospective students are required to have a background check to help ensure the safety and security of patients and co-workers. We must have acceptable results from the criminal background check before we can offer prospective students an application. This is a non-refundable fee. Inoculation records: These fees are related to the documentation of the required health records which are required of the student. We require documentation of the following records: 1. MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) - 2 doses 2. Hepatitis B - 3 doses (or a positive Hepatitis B titer) 3. 2-step TB testing. This consists of two consecutive tests and two readings, done within a minimum of seven days of each other and during the current calendar year. These records must be complete and included in the application material. You may have them done at varying costs at: • N. Idaho Public Health, 333 E. Palouse River Drive. Call 882-7506 for appointment. • Gritman’s Employee/Occupational Health Office, 700 S. Main Street in Moscow. Call 883-6284 for appointment. • A local physician of your choice. Call for an appointment. Liability Insurance: All students are required to have liability insurance. Proof must be shown prior to the finalization of enrollment. If you do not have coverage on a personal plan, liability insurance may be purchased. Contact Gritman Education for details. Textbook: New textbooks are available from Gritman Education for $60. BLS Certification: Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). All C.N.A. students must be BLS certified in order to at- tend clinicals. If you are not already current or if you will not remain current throughout the class period, we welcome you to take the class here. Our cost of $55 includes the class, the text, and the two-year AHA certification. Program tuition and fees for the program, include the classroom fee, instruction and use of related supplies, tools, mannequins and other necessary equipment. CNA Skills Test and CNA Written Test After passing the CNA course, students need to pass two state tests. One test is in actual skills, while the other is a written test done online.
