In Coach O’Brien’s first year as Head Women’s Basketball
Coach, the Lady Tritons compiled a 20-12 record and advanced
to the semi-finals of the NJCAA Region XI Tournament.
While guiding this talented group, the Tritons produced four
All-Region players. With a strong freshman class returning,
Coach O’Brien’s Iowa Central program has high hopes for
the 2015-2016 season. Coach O’Brien and assistant, Ayana
Dunning, are known for teaching an up-tempo offense and a
tenacious helping man-to-man defense. Our program takes
pride in recruit­ing from within Iowa and surrounding states,
and find this region supplies an amazingly strong talent pool
of girls who love to play the intense, competitive Triton style.
Coach O'Brien is from Altamont, Kansas and played at Western
Illinois University from 2006-2010. She finished her career
with the most games played in Leatherneck history. She is
going into her fourth year at Iowa Central and entering her
second as Head Coach . Coach O'Brien's previous stints
include Graduate Assistant at Western Illinois University
and Assistant Coach at Independence Community College
in Independence, Kansas.

Team Camp
Coach Dunning is from Columbus, Ohio and will be entering
her 2nd season as assistant coach for the Tritons. Coach
Dunning spent one season playing for the LSU Lady Tigers,
before transferring to West Virginia University to continue
her playing career. After just three years of college, Dunning
received her B.S. in Sports management and began work on a
Masters in Integrated Marketing and Communications. During
her time at WVU the Mountaineers made four consecutive
NCAA tournament appearances. Her senior year she was
captain of the Mountaineers, led WVU’s rebounding efforts for
the second consecutive season and received All Big XII honors.

The women's coaching staff at Iowa Central Community

Teams will be instructed to wear reversible practice jerseys
for the team camp. Check will need to be made out to Iowa
Central Community College. There will be a $100.00 retainer
for teams interested in attending the team camp. Our camp
will be limited to the first 20 teams that register and send
in their retainer.
