Levels of Thinking / Questioning in the Course
Use this chart as a tool to plan out your student assessment items for the course.
 In the left-hand column, note the ways in which students will be assessed in the course
(paper, midterm, labs, and soon).
 Next, decide what the weighting will be toward students’ mark in the course.
 Then consider what levels of Bloom’s taxonomy will be emphasizes in these
assessment items;
o Does your exam have questions at all levels of Bloom’s taxonomy?
o Does your course emphasize the level of thinking that you want students to
achieve in the course?
