NOTICE INVITING BIDS GERBER UNION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the GERBER UNION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT, County of
Tehama County, California, hereinafter referred to as “OWNER”, will receive sealed contract bids for THE GERBER
SCHOOL ENERGY CONSERVATION PROJECT. Actual construction for the project will: COMMENCE NO LATER THAN:
JUNE 15, 2017 AND BE COMPLETED ON OR BEFORE: July 31, 2017. Sealed Bid Proposals shall be submitted to the
OWNER no later than APRIL 12, 2017 AT 12:00 P.M. at the GERBER UNION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT, 23014
CHARD AVE, GERBER, CA 96035; to be promptly opened, and will be publicly read aloud. Management and
coordination of the project is the responsibility of the GERBER UNION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT. All inquiries
about the project are to be directed to GERBER UNION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT, ATTENTION: JESSE

[email protected]. Each bid proposal shall be made and presented on the forms furnished by the OWNER
in the Contract Documents which may be obtained from the GERBER UNION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT,
23014 CHARD AVE, GERBER, CA 96035, ATTENION: JESSE JOHNSON, SUPERVISOR OF MAINTENANCE &
OPERATIONS.
A PRE-BID MANDATORY MEETING WILL BE CONDUCTED ON April 5, 2017 AT 1:30 P.M. AT THE GERBER UNION
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT, 23014 CHARD AVE, GERBER, CA 96035.
Each proposal shall include the bidder’s “General Contractor’s License Number” and expiration date as noted on
the form provided. To be considered, a potential bidder must be licensed for the work they are bidding as required
under provisions of the Public Contract Code Section 3300, and the California Business and Professional Code, for
work covered in this proposal when a bid is submitted, this includes a joint venture to submit a bid. Each bidder
shall submit, on the forms provided with the Contract Documents, a list of proposed Sub-Sub-Contractors on this
Project as required by the Subletting and Subcontracting Fair Practices Act, California Public Contract Code Section
4100 seq. Each bidder must submit with each bid a cashier’s check payable to the OWNER or a bid bond in the
form set forth in the Contract Documents in an amount not less than 10% (ten percent) of the maximum amount
of bid as guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract if the same is awarded to such bidder. In
the event of failure to enter into said contract, such surety will be forfeited. Successful bidder and its SubContractors will be required to adhere to the prevailing wage rate determination made by the Director of the
Department of Industrial Relations, State of California, pursuant to California Labor Code. Copies of the prevailing
rate of per diem wages are on file at the OWNER’S Office. A payment bond and a performance bond shall be
required prior to execution of the contract and shall be in the form set forth in the Contract Documents. Pursuant
to Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code of the State of California, the contract will contain provisions
permitting the successful bidder to substitute securities for any monies withheld by the OWNER to ensure
performance under the contract. This is a prevailing wage project, subject to the provisions of a Labor
Compliance Program (LCP) pursuant to the California Labor Code and the California Code of Regulations. All
General Contractors and all Sub-Contractors must annually renew the DIR registration for the duration of the
project. Public works refers to construction, alteration, demolition, installation, or repair work (including
maintenance) done under contract and paid by public funds. For a more detailed explanation of public works
projects, please refer to California Labor Code 1720 – 1720.6. General Contractors or Sub-Contractors submitting
bids must be registered by March 1, 2015. The requirement to use only registered General Contractors and SubContractors on public works projects, greater than $1,000, applies to all projects awarded on or after April 1, 2015.
After April 1, 2015 no bid will be accepted and no contract, subcontract or purchase order shall be issued without
proof that the General Contractor or Sub-Contractor is registered. General Contractor must submit proof of DIR
Registration at the time of Bid. GERBER UNION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT will not accept bids for District
public works projects if the Contractor or Sub-Contractor is not registered through the Public Works Contract
Registration Program.
The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities therein. GOVERNING BOARD
