Venue and accommodation:
Kooli-Kopli recreation farm (www.koolikopli.ee ) Mustjala rural municipality, Saaremaa (Saare
County), Estonia.
Kooli-Kopli, located about 35 km north from the town of Kuressaare, 1km from Mustjala village
centre and about 3 km from the sea, is a rustic living farm with horses, ducks, sheep and dogs,
haystacks and even with some manure and mud if the weather happens to be rainy.
Students will be accommodated in small houses in quite basic conditions where they share
rooms with 2-4(5) other students from different universities and countries. All bedrooms have
bed linen, towels, blankets, etc. In some rooms there are bunk beds. There are shared washing
facilities (showers and saunas) and shared toilets. Showers, saunas and some toilets are
located in separate buildings, not in the house where some students are accommodated.
Lectures and seminars are held in the main building. This is also where the meals are cooked
and served.
Internet connection is available on the farm, so we recommend you take along your laptop.
There is also a public computer which students can use in the evenings.

Project grant:
Travel expenses
The project grant covers 75 % of the real travel costs for each participating student. Your will
need to buy your plane, train, ferry and/or bus ticket first yourself, or have them booked and
paid by your university if that is possible.
We will compensate (remunerate) 75 % of your travel expenses by bank transfer to your
account after you have returned from the summer course, as soon as we have received your
tickets, boarding passes etc. that prove travel. Please book your flight as soon as possible to
get a good fare rate.
Subsistence (accommodation, meals and insurance)
The accommodation and meals of students during two weeks cost approx. 29,50 EUR/day x12
days =354 EUR per student. A large proportion of this (EUR 16 a student/day) will be covered
by the project grant, part of the subsistence costs (meals) (EUR 45-50) will be the self-financing
proportion of the students to be paid by each student at Kool-Kopli farm.

Clothes and things to take along
As the intensive course takes place in the countryside and the programme includes several
outdoor activities (field trips, hikes), take along comfortable footwear and clothes (including
swimwear, a hat or a scarf and sunscreen/cream to protect you against sunburn; rainwear and
warm clothes). In late July - early August it is usually quite warm (+20-25 C) and nice, but rain
and wind might be possible with air temperatures around +15 C. For hikes, take along a small
backpack or rucksack. Due to shared showers and toilets, you might consider taking along a
dressing gown or a bathrobe.
See you in Saaremaa!
