This Week in the Butte: July 7 - 16

always something to do here in paradise. To help you get the most out of your stay, we have outlined some
activities to do in town and on the mountain. Whether you like good food, adventure or want to enjoy local
happenings, the CB Connection will help guide you. We hope you have a wonderful and memorable time

The Crested Butte Wildflower Festival
All you have to do is look up on the hillsides to see the natural beauty that blossoms from the
ground here in the Gunnison Valley; from purples to yellows to pinks and blues. As the official
Wildflower Capital of Colorado, you have come to the perfect place to be left in awe by one of
nature’s most impressive shows.
Beginning on July 7, the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival arrives for their 31st year! The mission
of the Wildflower Festival is to advocate for the preservation and appreciation of the vast
wildflowers that fulfill the Gunnison Valley. Throughout the festival are an array of activities to
choose from; including, 4x4 Tours, hikes, art classes, birding, lectures, photography courses and
more!

Live! From Mt. CB - Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real
Live! From Mt. CB is Crested Butte Mountain Resort's FREE Wednesday night summer concert
series in the base area. Join us for great tunes, a laid back atmosphere and the beautiful backdrop
of Mt. Crested Butte in all its summer glory. 21+ guests can purchase alcoholic beverages, and
there's plenty of room for kiddos to play, so bring your lawn chairs or picnic blankets and join us for
mid-week music!
Join us on July 12 as we welcome Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real to the Red Lady Stage
beginning at 5:30 pm! Their rich blend of cowboy, hippie and surf rock always generates a buzz
throughout the crowd.
10-3 Disc Golf Tournament
Test your skills on the new 18-hole disc golf short course at Crested Butte Mountain Resort! In
celebration of adding an additional nine holes to our short course, we are hosting a disc golf
tournament on July 15, which will offer a fun and fast paced challenge for players of all ages and
ability levels.
Registration for the tournament is on July 15 from 9 am to 10:30 am at Coal Breaker Coffee. The
tournament will kick off at 11 am with a shotgun start. Registration fees are $20 for adults and $10
for children ages 12 and under, and registration include the chairlift ride to the course. Head back
to the base area afterwards for the awards party at Butte 66 with free raffle prizes, and food and
drink specials.
Tough Enough to Wear Pink
Cattlemen’s Days Tough Enough to Wear Pink is dedicated to providing local funding for breast
cancer awareness, prevention, education, support, screenings and equipment. Join them on July 11
for their 2017 Singer/Songwriter Concert featuring Dean Dillon! The evening begins at 5 pm with a
VIP meet-and-greet of the musicians prior to a silent auction and fantastic live concert. For more

Coal Breaker Coffee Co. — NEW!
Espresso, coffee, made-to-order breakfast
sandwiches and crepes, grab-n-go sandwiches,
salads and hand-scooped ice cream. Located
within the Treasury Center. Open daily at
8 am.
Butte 66 Roadhouse Bar & Grille
Refuel on the best deck in the base area. Enjoy
grill items and a full bar daily starting at
10:30 am.
The WoodStone Grille
Start your morning off with a delicious
breakfast by the fire. Then end your day with
the alpine menu featuring stone oven pizzas,
pasta and signature grill items. Open daily
from 7 to 10 am and 4 to 10 pm.
Umbrella Bar at Ten Peaks
Open daily from 10 am to 4 pm serving wraps,
snacks and full bar. Hike, bike or drive to the
top of the Painter Boy Lift and enjoy the best
views on the mountain. On Tuesdays, enjoy
après until 7 pm.
Jefe’s
Come and join friends on the patio! Freshly
made Mexican fare & margaritas. Open daily
from 11 am to 4 pm.
BWC Café
Food, espresso, wine, beer and specialty
coffees. Open daily from 7 am to 1 pm.
The Avalanche
Classic American food and a long list of
domestic and import beers. Open daily from
12 to 8 pm.
9380
Located slopeside in the Elevation Hotel, 9380
is the base area’s hotspot for upscale mountain
dining. Serving breakfast and lunch. Open
daily at 7 am.
The Store & Deli
Offering made-to-order sandwiches, hot dogs
and snacks. Located across Gothic Road from
the Grand Lodge. Open daily from 10 am to
6 pm.
The Waffle Cabin
Made-to-order waffles, snacks and drinks!
Open daily at 9 am.
Hike to the Peak
Where else can you hike to 360 degree views in 45 minutes to 12,162 feet above sea level
and among the most picturesque views in Colorado? We’re pretty sure Crested Butte
takes the cake on this one. Silver Queen Chairlift rides are only $22 for adults and $19
for children (ages 7 to 17). Get your single scenic chairlift ride ticket, take the Silver
Queen lift to the top and then hike the Peak Trail all the way to the top. Trail maps are
available throughout the resort. Or if you’re a bit tired, you can hike out to Monument,
about 10 minutes, for some of the best views of Paradise Divide. Open Friday through
Sunday. Stop by the Adventure Center today!
Best Deck in the Base Area
Enjoy the 300 days of Colorado sunshine on the best deck in the base area at Butte 66.
Plus, delight in hand-crafted smokehouse specialties, hearty salads, roadhouse-style
burgers, milkshakes and so much more.
During the Live! From Mt. Crested Butte free concert series, there is no better vantage
point to enjoy the music than an Adirondack chair on the deck. We’ll meet you at the
Butte!
Alpenglow Gallery
Located in the Lodge at Mountaineer Square, the Alpenglow Gallery is proud to feature
local artists in varying media. The gallery features art that reflects the landscape,
culture and creativity unique to Crested Butte through photography, painting, metal
sculpture, ceramics, mixed media and weaving. This season’s theme is “Wild.”

Free Local Transportation
Ride the Mountain Express Shuttle for FREE! The Town Shuttle runs every 20 minutes
during the spring schedule with the first bus up the mountain from Old Town Hall in
downtown Crested Butte at 7:35 am and down from Mountaineer Square in Mt. Crested
Butte at 8:00 am. The last bus up the mountain departs from Old Town Hall at
10:55 pm and leaves the mountain from Mountaineer Square at 11:20 pm.

Condo Shuttles: Please note that the condominium loop shuttles only operate during the
winter season.

Full Moon Party at Ten Peaks
Hike, bike or drive to the Umbrella Bar at Ten Peaks for
a relaxing picnic style dinner at 7 pm. Professional

July 10
Alpenglow Concert Series
Join the Crested Butte Center for the Arts in welcoming
Strange Americans to the stage for the weekly free
concert series in downtown Crested Butte! The concert
begins at 5:30 pm at the Center for the Arts.
July 11
Tough Enough to Wear Pink
The Cattlemen’s Days Tough Enough to Wear Pink silent
auction and concert is a fun event to raise money for local
breast cancer funding. The event features singer and
songwriter Dean Dillon and more great musicians.
July 12
Powerade Pinnacle gO Bike Series
This free race series is great for all ages and ability
levels. Cross country and downhill races take place
beginning at 5:45 pm. We look forward to seeing you out
on the trails!

CBMR’s free summer concert series continues with the
rich sound of Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real. Don’t
miss this show at the base area beginning at 5:30 pm!
July 13
Mt. CB Farmers Market
New this summer, join local vendors at the Mt. Crested
Butte Farmers Market on Thursdays from 12 to 4 pm.
Located at the CBMR Base Area.
July 14
Free Twilight Archery Series
Fridays throughout July, CBMR welcomes archers of all
ages and ability levels to the free Twilight Archery
Series. Ride the Red Lady Express Lift up to the sight-in
range and archery course. We’ll see you up there!
July 15
10-3 Disc Golf Tournament
