Autumn Term 2013
Autumn 2013 in Base Three – Mrs Higson and Mr Lippok
This term our theme will be ‘Finding Nemo’. We will be learning all about plants, animals and environments in our local area and areas in the
wider world, linking to weather and water. A great deal of our theme work over the term will be based around story and non-fiction books
about water. Throughout the term we will read and revisit key stories including ‘Soggy the Bear’ by Philip Moran and Michael Foreman, ‘One
World’ by Michael Foreman, ‘Seal Surfer’ by Michael Foreman, ‘Jack’s Fantastic Voyage’ by Michael Foreman, ‘Underwater Farmyard’ by Carol
Ann Duffy and Joel Stewart and a selection of non-fiction books with amazing facts about water. We will be visiting Pennington Flash early in
the Autumn Term and this will be used as the starting point for many of our activities. We are also hoping to visit an aquarium after Half
Term to introduce areas in the wider world.
