GENERAL INFORMATION
CONCEPT
The 6th Annual Management of the Complex Hospitalized Patient
conference is designed to provide physicians, physician assistants,
and nurse practitioners with information and skills to improve their
care of hospitalized patients. Topics presented will focus on special
populations, such as geriatrics, and medical problems that span a
spectrum of sub-specialties, such as end of life care, prognostication,
and wound care. In addition, we will examine growing trends, such as
accountable care organizations and information technology systems,
and what that means for our patient population and care. We will also
address upcoming regulatory changes and review existing definitions.
Optional modules from the American Board of Internal Medicine
Maintenance of Certification will be available at an additional fee.
MEETING AND LODGING
This activity will be held and a block of sleeping rooms reserved at
the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, 9800 Hyatt Resort
Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78250. A special guest room rate of
$205 single/double (plus tax) has been granted for attendees of this
meeting.
This program has been designed to reflect the changing epidemiology
of our hospitalized patients, from age to obesity. It will feature an
interactive, computerized audience response system which will
be employed to facilitate audience participation and teach-back
techniques.
To make reservations at this rate, visit the conference website at
http://cme-hospitalist.sw.org, or telephone the hotel directly at
888-421-1442 and identify yourself as attending the Scott & White
Management of the Complex Hospitalized Patient. Reservations
requested after July 6, 2017, will be accepted only on a space
available basis.
OBJECTIVES
After participating in this comprehensive activity, the learner should
able to:
• Apply evidence based updates in multidisciplinary care of the
hospitalized patient to their daily practice
• Delineate recent regulatory, legal, and scientific changes that will
impact hospital based practice
• Acquire tools to evaluate current systems, make changes, and
deliver best practice models within a hospital
