Why Internals Grants?
o The intended impact of an ASPiRE award is to generate external
proposals that will sustain and further advance research, creative,
and programmatic endeavors initially funded through internal
grants.


ASPiRE supports aspects of student research
and creative arts projects for both Graduate ($500)
and Undergraduates ($300). Funds can be used to
assist in project costs such as travel or supplies.

Deadlines: Fall/Spring– see website for deadline calendar
Plan Ahead: Project Periods are generally for activities in
the future.
Mentors: All student projects require the support of a
faculty mentor or advisor.

Student Travel funding is available for students to
present works at a professional meetings or perform
or exhibit creative works.

Monthly Competition
Pays for travel or participation fee
Travel must be outside of Indiana
Students must be enrolled at time of travel

Hollis Funding
o This opportunity is supported by the income arising
from the Joseph W. Hollis endowment. Hollis funds
provides up to $500 to assist in psychological
research project costs.
o Proposals from any department are eligible, as long as
the project is psychology based.
o Applicants must be Graduate students.
o Fall and Spring Deadlines (October/April 1).
◦ Prior to release of funds, when compliance review is required,
funds will not be released until the request for review has been
approved. A copy of the Research Compliance Approval Letter
must be submitted to the ASPiRE Program before funds can be
released.
◦ Award disbursement is transferred into an account set up in
the awardee’s department, except Hollis.
◦ Student or student’s department can purchase the item(s)
needed for your grant and request reimbursement. *Please note
--
TAX PAID WILL NOT BE REIMBURSED.
◦ Final reports are required for most student competitions and
should be submitted to Sponsored Projects Administration per
the guidelines or award letter.
◦ Research/Creative Arts/Hollis recipients can apply only once
per student classification. Travel recipients can apply once per
fiscal year.




Annual Spring opportunity for students to
showcase their research, creative endeavors, and
other scholarly work
Projects do not have to be completed to enter
Undergraduate, graduate and Burris/Indiana
Academy students are eligible
