Connector
This is the report of the Connector cognitive capacities. The Connector is a series of tests that provides insight in
the match between a person and a job. One part of the Connector concerns cognitive capacities.
Cognitive capacities
Cognitive capacities indicate the extent to which someone can solve different kinds of cognitive problems. The
problem solving ability provides an indication of the way the participant will handle problems in the job intended.
Explanation of the page ‘Test report cognitive capacities’
The page ‘Test report cognitive capacities’ contains several bars with scores. The first score is about the G-factor.
The G-factor represents the general problem solving ability of the participant. ‘G’ is for ‘general’. The G-score is
calculated based on the scores of all tests made concerning cognitive capacity.
These tests represent the following three categories: figural capacities, arithmetical capacities and verbal capacities. Within each category, several tests have been made. The upper bar of each category reflects the general score
for this category. This score is based on the tests made within this category.
Meaning of the scores
The scores attained by the participant on the tests are compared to the scores of a norm group. A norm group is a
group of candidates who are comparable in a certain respect. The scores are represented in terms of so called
t-scores. This t-score are situated above each bar. A t-score of 50 reflects the average of the norm group. A score
deviating strongly from the average relatively occur less frequent. For example approximately only one percent of
the norm group scores between the 70 and 75 and also approximately one percent of the norm group scores between 25 and 30. On the other hand, approximately nineteen percent scores between the 45 and 50. The bars with
the t-scores above them are divided into blocs of 5 t-scores. In case of the G-factor and the three categories, percentages indicate how many persons from the norm group score lower and how many persons score higher than
the participant.

An example
31 %
19 %
50 %
This score is between 45 and 50. This means that 31 percent of the norm group is scoring lower and 50 percent is
scoring higher than the participant.
Meaning of the bars at the right
At the right of each test, you see a bar with three different percentages. These percentages indicate which percentage of the questions are answered correct by the participant (blue color / percentage mostly left) and which percentage of the questions are answered incorrect (red color / percentage at the middle). The white part / percentage at the right indicates the percentage of questions that the participant has not answered at all.
Confidentiality
Your test data is handled with the greatest possible confidentiality. With respect to the Connector, PiCompany
conforms to the guidelines of the Dutch Institute of Psychologists (NIP), see: www.psynip.nl, as well as the guidelines of 4TP (www.4tp.nl).
