Imagine everyday living in fear that people are observing
your every move. Imagine being judged for your appearance
and personality. Imagine children of the world being scared
to go to school, living in constant paranoia that people are
commenting on your lifestyle, this world is not equal, this
world is not fair. Picture living in a world where everyone has
human rights, where everyone can have a freedom of
speech, A world where no crime is committed, where there is
peaceful protests and where reconciliation is made.
We can make this happen; we can get there by standing up
for our rights and physically change human society, as the
bible said “treat others as you would like to be treated”.
People can be free at last if people made a change to the
they judge people, we are all the same black skin, white skin,
small, tall, large or skinny, we are all the same regardless of
what we all look like. No one should feel intimidated by any
other person.
When I was a child, I knew a girl, she was black, she
experienced bullying and hate due to her skin colour on
numerous of occasions, this effected her childhood. Later in
her life on the 1st of December 1965 the woman called Rosa
Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man, she was
later arrested. This was an act of racial discrimination and it’s
still happening to this very day. Pacifism should be made;
anything that can hurt someone is unacceptable.
Life is precious and shouldn’t be wasted by feeling insecure;
we distance ourselves from others because we are scared of
what they think of us. We need to be strong as a society and
stick with each other through racial abuse. We can follow in
the footsteps of martin Luther King; as he once said “I have a
dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation
where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but
by the content of their character” he represents a strong
willed person, we will get through to the nation. We can do
this.
