Events in school: We have had our School Council Elections this week and I’m pleased to announce our
new class representatives:







Yellow Class – James Milchard; Jorja Woodman & Isabel Dealhoy
Orange Class Assembly: A huge thank you to all the families that could join us for Orange Class’
assembly – the children were a credit to the class and our school. Thank you to all the children and staff
for an exciting recycling assembling. So, don’t forget – reduce, re-use, recycle!
Race for Life: Thank you all for joining us on the Junior field in supporting Cancer research UK. The
children were a credit to the schools and please do make sure, if you have gained sponsorship, to hand in
any funds to the school office by Friday 26th May.
Year 2 snacks: As part of the Year 2 to Year 3 transition, we have decided that the Year 2 children will
have their snack/milk during break time and not before. It was felt that this time could be used for more
learning and that the children would need to learn to manage their fruit at break time, like the Year 3
children in the Juniors. So far, this has worked well, so well done to the Year 2s 
Multi-skills club: There are still 10 places available for the Reception children to join the multi-skills
club. There are 5 sessions remaining at a cost of £15. Please see Mrs Feltham in the office for more
details if you are interested. For those who are already attending, we will be providing a small snack
before the club starts, unless you tell us otherwise.
School Improvement: The school had their second Project Group Meeting with the Local Authority at
the beginning of term and were happy that the school are on track in the pursuit of sustained
improvement. They were particularly happy with the monitoring of learning and the impact of the
behaviour systems put in place. This term, our Rapid Action Plan, is based around our teachers
monitoring their subject responsibilities and outlining the standards across the school. As always, if you
have any questions about our journey, please don’t hesitate to come and see me.
Sainsbury’s Vouchers: We would be grateful for any Sainsbury’s vouchers you have lying around.
Sainsbury’s has now stopped issuing them and we are in the process of counting them ready to send off
at the end of May.
