DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY – Divine Mercy Devotions will be held at St. Mary’s Church Tarbert this Sunday
23rd April at 3pm. All welcome.
DIOCESAN COLLECTION – A 2nd collection will be taken up next weekend for Peter’s Pence. This
collection is directed towards supporting the ministry of the Pope.
Reflection
The fact that we may have a strong faith,
doesn’t mean that life will be plain sailing for us.
What faith does is gives us bearings,
thus enabling us to live in a topsy-turvy world,
without getting lost or giving in to despair.
Just as swimmers trust that if they don’t panic,
and if they do a few simple things,
then the power of the sea will uphold them.
So believers entrust their lives,
to a power greater than themselves.
That power is the power of God,
who brought his Son, Jesus, back from the dead.

By his holy and glorious wounds, may Christ our Lord guard you and keep you.
May his wounds help you to find healing for your own wounds.
And may you not be afraid of anything the world can throw at you,
because Christ has overcome the World. Amen.

BOWEL CANCER - April is Bowel Cancer Awareness month. Have you Got that Gut feeling, the University
Hospital Kerry is providing a Free Information evening on Bowel Cancer Prevention and Awareness on
Thursday 27th April at the Rose Hotel Tralee 7 to 9pm. All Welcome.
DIABETES - Tralee Diabetes Support Group will hold their next event in The Rose Hotel April 27th @ 7.30pm.
Special Guest Mr Sid Sheehan, Nutritional Therapist.
LIVING IN RECOVERY – a talk on recovery from addiction will take place in the Tarbert Community Centre on
Monday 24th April at 8.30pm. Speakers will include Oisin Mc Conville ( Armagh ), David and Lucy Brown
U.S.A. The evening will be facilitated by Paddy Creedon. The talk is in memory of Tom Donovan R.I.P. and
supported by the Thomas Lyndon Foundation. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served
afterwards. Everybody is welcome.
ARD CHÚRAM DAY CENTRE - for the Senior Citizens of North Kerry will commence a fourth day service on
Tuesday May 9th at its Centre in Greenville Listowel. A bus from Tarbert to and from the Centre will be
provided. Patrons will receive a welcoming cup of tea and scone on arrival and a hot freshly cooked lunch at
mid-day. Entertainment such as song and dance, computer classes and crafts, cards and bingo are provided.
The overall contribution is €10. Hairdressing and Chiropody services are also available at the Centre. For
further information contact Margaret Payne, the Centre’s Nurse Manager at (068) 22986 on any Wednesday,
Thursday or Friday. Also the local Public Health Nurse, Helen Murphy may be contacted at 068-21222.
TARBERT THEATRE PLAYERS - will be hosting a Variety Concert which is to be held this Saturday 22nd in The
Community Centre commencing at 8pm. Tickets will be available at a cost of €5.00 from The Pharmacy and
will be limited to 120 on the night. Why not come along and enjoy a night of fun and laughter.
HISTORICAL SOCIETY – “Yankee Pirate or American Naval war hero? – Redeeming the Reputation of John
Paul Jones” – talk by Patrick Lynch in the Bridewell, Sat. 29th April at 7.30pm. Fáilte agus cupán tae.
