McDonald’s Funded Coaching Courses As part of the McDonald’s Coach Education Programme in partnership with the FA , Hampshire County FA are delighted to announce FREE Youth Module Courses for our Charter Standard Club coaches. Below are 2014’s free McDonald’s courses. FA Youth Award Module 1 – “Developing the Environment” The Module One presents a child centred approach to the development of our young players. The award recognises the important role the coach can have upon levels of motivation and self-esteem and gives practical advice to help the coaching sessions become an “effective environment for learning”. Suitable for coaches at all levels this innovative new look at coaching will create coaches who have an understanding of children and young players as well as football. Aims & Objectives To provide candidates who have an on-going involvement in coaching young football players with an opportunity to improve their knowledge and confidence in coaching young players. The Module looks at the key developmental issues relating to the 5-11 year group but presents the importance of the right environment, for coaching and playing, at all age groups. A deposit of £140 is required to secure the booking; this deposit is then refunded in full once the candidate has successfully completed his/her course. FA Youth Award Module 2 – “Developing the Practice” Building on the knowledge learnt in Module One, this course provides practical sessions and workshops that help coaches to develop practices appropriate for the age, maturity, ability and experience levels of their players. Coaches will be expected to plan, deliver and evaluate their own, and other coaches’ practices during the course. This second module in The FA Youth Award is most suited to club coaches who are keen to improve their own personal development as a coach of young players of any age. Aims and Objectives To provide candidates who have an on-going involvement in coaching football players with an opportunity to improve their knowledge and confidence in coaching the 5-16 year age group. On successful completion of the FA Youth Award Module 2 you should be able to: 1. Identify how to build observation skills 2. Reflect upon and begin to understand the outcomes of practices 3. Understand the rationale for using different types of practice 4. Interpret key issues related to age, ability, maturity and experience and how they apply to practice and coaching 5. Understand the value of planning and evaluation/reflection A deposit of £140 is required to secure the booking; this deposit is then refunded in full once the candidate has successfully completed his/her course.
