OBJECTIVES
 Recognize differences in the daytime
and night time sky.
 Recognize the pattern of the Sun
appearing to rise in the morning in the
east, move across the sky and set in the
west on a daily basis.
 Recognize that the moon’s shape looks
different every day.
 Discuss the phases of the Moon and
explain why only part of the Moon is
seen.
 Discuss the repeating pattern of the
Moon phases and relate to the repeating
pattern of the Sun (day and night)
