We’re off to the 1 competition for many of our teams. Let’s go out and show everyone
what we’ve got!!! Attached you will find the COLD SNAP CLASSIC information.
Remember to wear your RED, GOLD AND WHITE proudly! Bring your noise-makers and signs
and use them! This will be our first competition of the season and our athletes will benefit greatly
from the support they receive from the fans.
We will leave you with some tips to help make this a successful and memorable weekend for us
all.
1. Parents, please make sure to get there as early as possible. Allow yourself a substantial
amount of time to find parking. There are usually numerous events taking place on the
same day so it will be BUSY in the parking lot.
2. When you arrive, please look for your child’s Team Parent and/or coach to sign in.
3. We recommend pre-purchasing your tickets from our front desk staff to save you from
standing in line at the venue. Once you have signed in your child, please do not linger
outside with your cheerleader. They will be fine once delivered to their coaches and
team parents.
4. We encourage our families to sit together as much as possible. However, you are not
permitted to block/reserve large numbers of seats.
5. Stay until your dismissal time or better yet, stay until the end of the event. The longer
you are able to stay and support, the greater presence we will have throughout the
competition. The kids really appreciate it and they deserve our continued and positive
support! Each athlete is required to stay until the end of the awards ceremony for their
team.
6. Show your support for ALL PREMIER TEAMS! There will be 11 teams performing
throughout the day so be prepared and ready to support them all. The athletes feed off
the excitement and encouragement so please come ready to overwhelm them and show
them we are there for them.
7. Be a positive PREMIER role model! Premier is a first-class program and that means that
we never speak negatively about the judging, another program or our own Premier
teams. You are representing Premier from the time you step out of your car at the venue
until you arrive back at your home.
8. No matter what place your child’s team gets, stay positive. If they win, that is great!
Teach them to win with grace. If they lose, that’s ok! Let them know that they did a great
job, that you are proud of them, and help them understand that this is part of any sport
they choose. Encourage them to keep working hard! If you have any questions about
why we placed a certain way, this is a discussion to have with Premier staff, not other
parents or athletes.

competition from the stands with a sea of RED, GOLD AND WHITE!

Location: Hall D in the Edmonton Expo Centre (formerly
Northlands) 7515 116 Avenue Northwest
Meeting Location: Please arrive NO LATER than your designated time and meet your Team
Parent and/or coaches on the concourse outside of Hall D.
Parking: Please note that there is a $15 charge for parking at Northlands. Alternatively, the LRT
runs directly to the Expo Centre and might be a great option rather than battling parking and may
be more cost effective.
Pick up Time and Location: All athletes will remain with their team throughout the competition.
You may pick up your athlete from the team at the completion of the Awards Ceremony at the
competition mat.
Admission: Tickets are $10 each for the day. Children 5 and under are free. You can prepurchase tickets from our front desk staff (CASH ONLY).
Uniforms:
• Athletes should come dressed in their skirt, uniform top, white socks, and cheer shoes.
• Hair should be worn in a high pony tail with the bow. See the post in the members area
for more information.
• Make up - Instructions are provided on proper make up application for each team on our
website. If you are unsure, please touch base with your coach. Tiny and mini teams do
not require make-up. They will use a reusable star on their left cheek. Youth and up
teams will use the make up kits available at the front desk.
• All jewelry MUST be removed at home. We are NOT permitted to tape over jewelry.
Hotel Blocks: We have the following hotel booked with a block and encourage families to take
advantage of it if you are choosing to stay at a hotel. The LRT is quickly accessible from the
hotel. The Chateau Lacombe Hotel is one block away from the Central Station of LRT. The Cold
Snap Classic is at the Coliseum Station of LRT.

All the athletes belongings will be left in a room, which we will be sharing with all the
teams, therefore, do not bring any valuables with you to the competition. We would
recommend packing a water bottle and light snack in a small bag.
