Institute of Innovation in Technology and Management in technical collaboration with Computer Society of India
(CSI) and association with DRDO- Government of India organized a day long National Conference on Innovative
Research in Computer Science and Information Technology on 18th Feb, 2017 in IITM Campus. The conference
recorded a confluence of eminent dignitaries and professionals.
Dr. P. K. Saxena, Scientific Consultant of GOI, was guest of honor and Dr. G. Athithan. DRDO DS and DG was the
Chief Guest of the event.
The event started on an auspicious note with lighting of lamp by the dignitaries. The event kick-started with the
welcome address by Prof (Dr.) C.P. Chawla, Director, IINTM. He welcomed and introduced all the luminaries and
initiated the talk giving relevance to the growing technology in the form of Artificial Intelligence, self driven cars,
Missile Technologies and how it has affected human life.
Dr. P. K. Saxena, Scientific Consultant of GOI, in his key note address expressed pleasure in being a part of this
conference and sharing the dais with the eminent luminaries. He initiated his talk by discussing about cyberspace
and its growth. He also stressed upon the concept of Internet of Things, Surveillance Drones, Space Machines and
Satellites, Bitcoins and Crypts currency. He concluded with growing concerns of attacks regarding cyber security
and the measures that can be used to address these concerns.
Dr. G. Athithan, DRDO, DS and DG in his key note address elucidated importance of Artificial Intelligence and
how we can implement it in real life. He also pointed out power of computers in today’s world in the areas of game
playing, Theorem Proving, Natural language processing and Common sense reasoning. He explained the
significance of computer vision and how it can be implemented using Artificial Intelligence.
The inaugural session concluded with the release of conference Souvenir by the honorable guests. Prof. (Dr.) C.P.
Chawla presented mementos to the honorable chief guests and Dr. Geetali Banerji, HOD-IT,IINTM expressed her
gratitude for accepting the invitation and sharing their immense knowledge with us.
The Expert talk section recorded Dr. Jay Shankar Prasad, Dr. Sushila Madan, Dr. Vinay Nassa as the eminent
speakers for the session.
Dr. Sushila Madaan, Professor, Delhi University, started her talk by presenting a short video on ubiquitous
computing. She further gave a clear distinction between ubiquitous computing and virtual reality. She also threw
some light on how to achieve ubiquity. At last she shared ample examples from real world where ubiquitous
computing has been implemented.
Dr. Jay Shankar Prasad, Professor & Head, MVN University, spoke in the field of robotics. He discussed some of
the technical challenges in robotics and introduced concepts such as inverse kinematics, trajectory planning and
manipulator control to deal with such challenges. He concluded by explaining the application areas of robotics.
Post Lunch technical session was chaired by Dr. M. N. Hoda, Dr. Jay Shankar Prasad, Dr. Navin Rajpal and Dr.
Vinay Nassa.
Dr. M.N. Hoda, Director, Bharti Vidyapeeth, introduced the session by explaining the purpose of a conference. He
stressed upon importance of SMAC. He also discussed about innovative research concepts such as machine
language and natural language processing along with what they can accomplish in coming future.
Various researchers presented their papers and stimulated interesting topics and discussions. Mr. Prashant Kumar
enlightened us with an approach for Employee Attendance Management System using RFID. He emphasized on the
vital role played by the employees and their attendance in the organization. He pointed out the limitations faced
during the manual system of attendance keeping. He also threw light on RFID technology which serves as an
automatic storage and also introduced its components. Ms. Akanksha Bhasin highlighted the importance of
understanding the need for blood groups and their analysis using an application Blood Mate. She talked about the
features of proposed system and highlighted the distinguished features of the app along with the methodology used.
The session was summed by Dr. Navin Rajpal and he finally presented the award for the best paper of the session to
winners.
The valedictory address was conferred by Dr. Geetali Banerji , Convener, NCIRCSIT’17 followed by Vote of
Thanks by Dr. Dr. Vinay Nassa, Co Convener. He thanked all the eminent guests and speakers who graced the
occasion and participated in making the conference a grand success. He also expressed his gratitude to the
management and the organizing committee members who supported him in organizing this event. The curtains to the
conference were drawn by presenting mementos to the illumanaries by Prof.(Dr). C.P. Chawla, Director IINTM and
with singing of National Anthem followed by high tea.
