USB
Plug the Gatekicker into the USB outlet and verify that both lights flash for a second and then the red
power light remains illuminated.
Insert the supplied Gatekicker USB driver disk into the CDROM drive.
Use the supplied USB cable to connect the Gatekicker to the computer.
Follow the instructions of the Hardware Wizard
Testing the Gatekicker USB
Run the Terra Term program (included on the driver CD).
Choose Serial Connection and select the port that Gatekicker USB has added and click OK.
Click ‘Setup / Serial Port’ and verify the following:
Baud = 2400, Data = 8 bit, Parity = none, Stop = 1 bit, Flow control = none.
Press a key on the keyboard.
The Data Light should blink each time a key is pressed.
Each time a key is pressed the Power Light should flash for the duration of the gate time.
Programming the Gatekicker USB
Connect the Gatekicker to the computer and run the Terra Term program (included on the driver CD).
Choose Serial Connection and select the port that the Gatekicker USB has added and click OK.
Click ‘Setup / Serial Port’ and verify the following:
Baud = 2400, Data = 8 bit, Parity = none, Stop = 1 bit, Flow control = none.
Type: pg<Enter>
The Gatekicker will respond with:
Format xx.y
Enter new time:
Type the new time. For 5.2 seconds enter: 05.2
The Gatekicker will respond with:
Save (y/n)
Type: y
The new time will be saved.
Connecting the Gatekicker to a device to be controlled
The Gatekicker USB is not polarity sensitive.
Connect the device being controlled to the two screw connectors labeled Gate.
The device being controlled must have a power source.

Description

Program – This will permanently program a new gate time.
Read – This will display the gate time.
Reset – This will reset the Gatekicker. The saved time will be retained.
