Summit at a Glance
The Forbes Under 30 Summit EMEA will take place April 2-6, 2017, starting in Tel Aviv and finishing in the
Old City of Jerusalem.

We kick off the week at the Tel Aviv Beach, on the shores of the Mediterranean.
Monday April 3 (Tel Aviv)
10:00 – 14:00 “Innovation: Reimagining Humanity”
A daylong celebration of innovation and startups! The HaTachana, Tel Aviv’s old train station, will be
transformed into the Under 30 Village, showcasing companies, fun interactive demos and simulations,
networking areas, a VIP lounge and more.
Tuesday April 4 (Tel Aviv to Jerusalem)
“Exploration: From the Rothschild to Old Jerusalem”
10:00 Morning Tel Aviv: Open House on Rothschild Boulevard. At the heart of Tel Aviv’s financial center,
entrepreneurs and funders on famous Rothschild Boulevard open their office doors to Summit participants.
13:00 Afternoon: Transfer to Jerusalem, and guided tours of the Old City (Forbes provided)
20:00 Evening Jerusalem: At night, the bars and cafes of Jerusalem’s bustling nightlife center, the Shuk, come
alive. Participants trade their U30 coupons for food and drink at participating marketplace outlets. Music will fill
the alleyways, and a DJ will turn the market into the hottest dance club on the planet for a night.
Wednesday April 5 (Jerusalem)
“Inspiration: Making a Difference, Healing the World”
10:00 A chance to give back: in small groups, participants set out across Greater Israel to visit inspiring sites,
talk with world-class experts and brainstorm solutions to social problems with NGOs and social entrepreneurs.
22:30 Forbes Under 30 Music Festival at The Tower of David
Thursday April 6 - Inspiration Continued: Dawn at Masada, Recovery at the Dead Sea
Sunrise Inspiration and reflection—starting with sunrise at Masada, followed by floating in the Dead Sea.
13:00 Summit concludes in Jerusalem.

Getting to Israel
Airport: The closest airport to the Summit kick-off is Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV)

Visa: Overseas participants will be required to meet normal Israeli entry requirements before a visa can be
granted. Please seek advice from your local travel specialist or consulate. It is important that participants apply
for a visa, if required, well in advance of anticipated travel. Check that your passport has more than 6 months
validity from the date of entry into Israel.
Transport from Ben Gurion International Airport to Tel Aviv:
- Train (20 minutes): the station is located on Level S (the lowest floor) of Terminal 3. The service does not
operate on Shabbat (from Friday afternoon to Saturday night) and Jewish holidays. It is recommended to

Useful Information
Currency: The State of Israel’s currency is the Israeli Shekel (ILS). Approx. exchange rate: €1=ILS4 and
$1=ILS3.75. Foreign currency can be exchanged at the airport, banks, post offices, most hotels or licensed
exchange agencies in large cities. A passport is required when exchanging travelers’ checks. Exchange rates
vary from place to place, and banks charge a commission.
Banks: opening hours vary, and many are closed on Saturdays and public holidays. Most are open between:
8.30am - 12.00 noon (Sunday to Friday)
4pm - 6pm (Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday).
Value added tax @ 17%: Tourists are eligible for a VAT (sales tax) refund on qualifying purchases. This does
not apply to those with Israeli citizenship or passports.

Check your appliances before traveling, and pack a transformer and adaptor plugs if necessary.
Weather: Daytime temperatures range from 65-75F/20-26C degrees across most of the country (although
hotter around the Dead Sea and Red Sea). In Jerusalem, evening temperatures range from 45-55F/10-15C
degrees. Possibility of light rain.
Summit dress code: Smart casual. For visits to holy sites avoid shorts and revealing clothing, and be prepared
to cover arms and head. Carry a shawl/wrap, just in case.
