Please find below attendance data, by class, for week ending 28th April 2017 (school target 97%). Class % Attendance Compared to last week Oak (Reception) 92.7% - AMBER Fir (Year 1) 94.3% - AMBER Maple (Year 2) 95% - AMBER Elm (Year 3) 96.8% - AMBER Alder (Year 4) 93.8% – AMBER Beech (Year 5) 95.2% – AMBER Willow (Year 6) 96.6% –AMBER Ash 87.8% – RED Birch 97.1% GREEN Cedar 96% – AMBER Please note: any child with attendance below 90% will not have any further absences authorised unless medical evidence is produced to support it. When we talk about % figures in education there is often a lot of confusion. For example, if your child did a test and got 90% you would congratulate them and say they had done well. However, with Attendance, this is NOT the same. The table below tries to explain, by showing what the % means in terms of days and weeks a child is absent from school and, therefore, not learning. PE Kits There seem to be a number of children who do not seem to be bringing PE kits in on their scheduled day. Please see your Class teacher if you are unsure which day your lesson takes place. Our stars for week ending 28th April were: Ash Class Jacob Birch Class Rohan Cedar Class Mikey Oak Class Ela Fir Class Danny Maple Class Louie Elm Class Patrick Alder Class Jake Beech Class Bobby Willow Class Megan We also congratulate Olivia B and Lily as our presenters and Jessica and Theo from year 3 who took part in the Performance Interlude. Please be aware that it is the responsibility of parents/carers to keep school up to date with any existing medical conditions or changes to current medication and to inform school if new conditions are diagnosed – this includes any allergies – thank you. Homework As a school we would like to stress the high value that we place on homework which your child receives on a weekly basis. We believe that it not only strengthens children’s learning, but also develops children’s independence and love for learning. Strategies and ideas move on and whilst we, as parents, want to support our children 100% in their education, I am well aware that from time to time we may need a better understanding of how we can do that. If you are having difficulties supporting your child(ren) with their homework, please make an appointment to speak to the class teacher who will be happy to offer additional advice/ guidance. Uniform Children need to be dressed in the correct uniform, labelled with your child’s name. Children need to be in black sensible shoes, not trainers please. Uniforms can be ordered through the school office. Orders go in to the uniform company at the end of each month.
