FINANCIAL AWARD INFORMATION
 NIC advisor will be at Isfeld on March 15, April 3 and May
8 from 9-11. Sign up at Student Services.
 Award Booklets and Group 1 and 2 application forms are
available online at isfeldschool.com (Under Student &
Parents tab and then Grad tab) also at
isfeldgrad.weebly.com.
 Application deadline is Friday, March 10 at 1:00 pm
 Award Announcement Social is May 18 for award winners
to prepare for the Award Reception, which is on Monday,
June 5 at 7:00 pm in the MPR.
 Students who have not registered with the Ministry for
the Online Post-Secondary institution Selections may do
so before July 15, 2017. Students can choose up to six
PSIs.
BLOOD DRIVE
 The next blood donor clinic is on Thursday, March 16
at the Florence Filberg Centre from 1:00 to 7:00 pm

 Things to remember:
 Drink water before you go. Eat breakfast and lunch.
 Bring your ID. They don’t take blood from strangers.
 It is almost completely painless, but will take
about an hour.
SPIN-A-THON – SAT. MARCH 4TH
If your son or daughter says they need to be
somewhere at 6:00 am on March 4 th , it could
be legit.
The Jumpstart Spin-a-thon takes place at the
Comox Rec Centre from 6 am to 6 pm on
Saturday, March 4 th. Grads spin for 1 hour
each.
Isfeld has two teams, each with 12 riders,
involving staff members and grads.
Check the sign-up for your child’s name.
BOWLING WITH SPECIAL OLYMPIC
ATHLETES – FRI. MAY 12 TH 2 – 4 PM
 Second year for this grad-itude event.
 Pair two grads and two Special Olympic Athletes on
each team.
 24 grads play a game at 2:00 pm and another 24
play at 3:00 pm.
 A donation from Fashion Show profits is made to
the Special Olympic Athletes from the grads
 Takes place at Codes Country Lanes in Courtenay.
GRAD DESSERT NIGHT AND DANCE
WED. MARCH 1
 Wednesday, March 1 st , baby photos start at 6:30
pm.
 Involves entertainment, grad most likely to, look
a-likes, silent auction and 50/50 for Relay for Life
as well as grad day info.
 Bring a dessert for 12 that day as early as
possible (finger food) or a raffle basket item by 2
pm.
 About 8:30 pm grad dance in
the MPR, ends around 10:00pm.
GRAD DESSERT NIGHT AND DANCE
WED. MARCH 1
 Important that tickets are picked up in the office by
NOON, tomorrow.
 Tickets are free, each grad gets a ticket for
themselves and 2 for parents/guardians.
 Must have a ticket to enter the gym.
 Pre-assigned seating at tables so space is limited.
 Let us know if you need special seating or parking
 Baby photos that haven’t been picked up will be
available for pick up
 *** Fashion Show DVD’s will be handed out to those
who purchased them***
DRIVE ONE FOR CHARIT Y
SUNDAY, APRIL 30
 Sunday, April 30 th from 11 am to 3
pm at Isfeld
 This combines the Ford Test Drive
event with a concession and car
wash.
 This will raise money for YANA (helps
families with out of town medical
expenses for sick children) and for
our own grads.
 Each test drive is $20 off a grad fee.
If we have the most test drives, we
get a $500 scholarship

 Grads form teams of 12
to 15.
 This is the one event
that involves almost
every graduating
student.
 Parents and staff also
get involved.

FEES
 Grad fees are $125, but may be less
if you sold poinsettias, or will have
people taking test drives. ($20 each)
 If you are taking a guest to Crown
Isle -> $65
 Student fees and Library fees are
also due before tickets will be
issued, as well as exit interview,
grad transitions and award thank you letter.
 Talk to your counsellor or
administrator if financial hardship
jeopardizes your participation in
Grad.
GRAD DAY
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 28
 3:30 to 4:15 pm Meet at the Driftwood Mall for the Classic
Car Parade.
 4:30Grads assemble in gym for a group photo, then go to
Home Ec rooms to get snacks and grad cap and gown.
 Parents find seating, grads line up in TA order
 Commencement Ceremony begins at 6:30 and will run to 8:00
 A brief reception in the pods will follow.
 Grad/Parent dances (3 or 4 songs max)
 Parents go home, Grads get bussed to Crown Isle.
 Parents pick up grads at 3:15.
COMMENCEMENT AND DRY GRAD
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 28
 Wednesday, June 28 th , starting at 6:30 in the gym.
 Support is available for those in financial hardship
through the Prince Charming/Cinderella Project via the
school counsellor.
 Dry Grad really means no alcohol or drugs.
 School staff runs the Commencement Ceremony, Grad
Parents run the Dry Grad with Admin support.
 Dry grad ends at around 3:15 am, when a parent picks
up the grad and takes him or her home.
STUFF TO NAG YOUR KID ABOUT
 Grad Transitions completion chart
 Students taking online courses toward graduation
must have those courses completed by June 1 st .
 The Commencement Ceremony is for graduating
students only. Those who do not qualify to graduate
by June 30 th don’t take part. If your son or daughter
is in jeopardy, you will have already been personally
contacted by one of our counsellors. Provincial exam
results were released today, and more notification
letters may be forthcoming.
