Madison 56er teams enjoyed continued success at the 2017 State Championships held this spring at the USA
Complex in Appleton over the Memorial Day weekend. Four of the eight teams entered in the event advanced to the
semi-final stages and two of those teams went on to the championship game. Two teams, U16 and U17 boys were
also in position to advance from their group on the last day but came
up short.
Congratulations to Coach Tony Wright and the U13 Girls Red
and Coach Mike Bell with U14 Boys Red for making it to the semifinals. The Girls tied SC Waukesha 1 - 1 but lost on penalty kicks and
the U14 Boys went down in a goal-fest vs Milwaukee Bavarians 4 - 6.
Moving one step further the U15 Boys team and Coach Bryson
Machonga defeated FC WI
U14 Boys Red
Eclipse 4 - 2 in their semifinal but fell to SC Waukesha 2 - 0 in the final.
Coach Enzo Fuschino’s U18 Boys tied Milwaukee Bavarians 1 - 1 in
their semi and advanced on penalty kicks only to suffer a heartbreaking
defeat to Elm Grove 1 - 2 after having beaten the same team in group
play 1 - 0.
"Once again our Madison 56ers teams have been a force at the State
