Are you interested in Pick-Your-Own Free, Fresh, Organic Produce as accessible as a visit your child’s school? If your answer is “yes,” please consider joining the Eagle Bluff Family Garden Club! What is the Family Garden Club? The Family Garden Club consists of families interested in tending and harvesting vegetables that will be grown in the school garden beds located in front of the school to the right of the main entrance. Family Garden Club members will sign up for a couple of dates during the summer to tend the garden at whatever time of day is convenient (less than an hours worth of work including harvest time), in exchange they can harvest a portion the vegetables that are ready at that time. NO GARDENING EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!! INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE GIVEN! Work mostly consists of watering and harvesting – very little weeding if any. Vegetables that are still producing in the fall when school starts again will be harvested by students and used in the school salad bar. What is the purpose of the Family Garden Club? To allow Eagle Bluff families who do not have a backyard garden, the chance to experience growing their own food. To provide healthy, fresh, organic produce to Eagle Bluff kids and their families for FREE. To make use of the existing beds that would be otherwise vacant over the summer. To provide a wide variety of school grown, fresh organic produce for Eagle Bluff students in the fall. How do I join the Family Garden club?
