I Am Louisiana By Theresa Hardy I am the rivers and waterways, that flow through me like veins. I am the cypress and magnolia, that grow with every rain. I protect the mighty gator, as he roams throughout my lands. I watch the friendly pelican, as he soars above my sands. I am the stories told by all, the stories everlasting. I am Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday, the day before the fasting. I am the taste of happiness, that make up every feast. I am jazz, blues, and zydeco, rhythm, to say the least. I am the sounds you hear at night, the sights you see by day. I am the midnight air you breathe, and every word you say. I am the colorful morning sky, and the evening sun that sets. I am the fields for crops to grow, the fisherman, and his nets. I am a unique culture, rising up from my past. I am in the hearts of many, my strength will always last. I am but natural beauty, hidden deep, places untold. I am Louisiana, standing strong, as I grow old. Photography Credits Theresa Hardy Madeline Dehart Jude Dubois Stacy Bodin Microsoft
