This order comes into force on 10 July 1998. Interpretation In this order, unless the context otherwise requires,— Note This order is administered in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. 1 cl 3 Biosecurity (Southland Regional Pest Plants Management Strategy) Crown Obligations Order 1998 Reprinted as at 3 September 2007 Financial year has the same meaning as in section 2(1) of the Public Finance Act 1989 General administrative functions means setting standards, inspection, enforcement, monitoring, surveillance, provision of advice or information, education, direct control (including biological control) of pests, research into biological control, administration, or management Southland Regional Pest Plants Management Strategy means the pest management strategy approved by the South land Regional Council on 21 August 1996. 3 (1) (2) Pest control on land administered by Department of Conservation The Southland Regional Pest Plants Management Strategy ap plies to the Crown to the extent that the Crown must,— (a) So far as is practicable, carry out work in accord ance with that strategy, to the value of $149,200 each financial year, on land owned by the Crown and ad ministered by the Department of Conservation under the Conservation Act 1987 or under any Act listed in Schedule 1 of the Conservation Act 1987: (b) Pay the amount of $7,000 each financial year to the Southland Regional Council for general administrative functions specified in that strategy.
