Simplify3D general setting conditions of FABRIAL® R series
for Makerbot Replicator 5th gen

This document notes the general setting condition in Simplify3D software when you are trying
3D-prining of FABRIAL® R Series with Makerbot Replicator 5th gen.
We would recommend you to use Simplify3D software when you are trying 3D-printing of
FABRIAL® R Series with Makerbot Replicator 5th gen.
We have no experience of succeeding the
3D-printing in Makerbot Replicator 5th gen directly through Makerbot desktop software at this
time, though we are not sure the reason.
The condition mentioned in this document was tested and checked with a test 3D-data our
Makerbot Replicator 5th gen printer, so please do test for your Makerbot Replicator 5th gen printer
with your 3D-data and then adjust the setting for the 3D-data, you would like to print.
The 3D-data involving many curves and 3D-data of bigger things are preferred for FABRIAL® R
Series. But the 3D-data involving many edges and tiny-parts (like small toys) are not suitable for
FABRIAL® R Series, due to its elasticity.

1. Setting of Extruder
Extrusion multiplier would be set as 1.1 or 1.2, in order to expand the area contacting base stage.
Extrusion Width would be set as 1.1 or 1.2.
As for the Retraction、Distance would be set in the range from 1.5 mm to 2.5 mm, and Speed would
be set in the range from 15 mm/s to 25 mm/s.
2. Layer setting
Layer Height would be set in the range from 0.3 mm to 0.5 mm normally. But you can chose
0.1mm or 0.2mm, if you want the printed parts, which have more smooth surface or small parts.
As for the First Layer, you should set, 50 % of Height, 150 % of Width, and 50 % of Speed, in
order to get good contact between parts and base plate.
You can set the Shell Number and Top/Bottom Layer Number, you want.
3.Additions Setting
Generally, Brim should be set, in order to get good contact between parts and base plate. Brim
should be set wider like 10 lines or 20 lines, in order to prevent pealing from base plate by the
shrinkage of printed layer.
4.Infill Setting
There is no notification in Infill setting.

5.Support Setting
There is no notification in Infill setting. FABRIAL® R Series having much viscosity, if the data
has the part with 30 degree of overhung, but the data could be printed without any support.
6.Temperature setting
The temperature of nozzle should be set at 160 degree C.
Setting over 180 degree C is not
recommended, because it might cause an obstruction of the nozzle by the burn of polymer.
7.
Cooling Setting
The fun should be off during whole 3D-printing method.
8.Speed setting in Others setting
Printing speed would be set in the range from 10m/s to 25m/s generally. If you want a small part or
a part having tiny area, the printing speed should be set slowly.
