Registration Juniors may register at www.alabamanwfloridapga.com by following steps listed or mail entry forms to: Alabama – NW Florida Section PGA Attn: Junior Tour 1300 Ballantrae Club Dr. Pelham, AL 35124 Incomplete or illegible entries will not be processed. Membership&EntryFees Each junior competing in the AL-NWFL PGA Junior Tour will be required to sign up for a yearly membership at a cost of $50. The yearly membership allows each junior to compete in as many events as they wish. Each tournament will cost $35 per event and will include golf, range, lunch and prizes. Age Divisions Boy's Division – 10-12, 13-15, and 16-18 Girl's Division – 10-12, 13-15, and 16-18 Format The 10-12 age groups will play a 9-hole tournament. All other divisions will play an 18-hole tournament. Players age division is based on their age as of the first day of the Junior Tour (June 1, 2017). Deadline Entry deadline for events scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday is the Thursday before the scheduled event. Events scheduled on Thursday or Fridays will have a deadline of the Monday of that week. Entries will be accepted in the office through 5:00 p.m. or online through 8:00 p.m. on the deadline day. The field will be limited to the first 72 players to sign up. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. WaitlistPolicy If a AL-NWFL PGA Junior Tour Event becomes full, a waiting list will begin and juniors will be added by order of sign up. Groups will not be added to the field after the deadline. A player that drops out after the deadline may be replaced by a waitlist player provided that person is already a member of the AL-NWFL PGA Junior Tour. Refunds No refunds will be issued after the tournament entry deadline. If a junior cancels prior to the entry deadline, they will be given a refund minus a $10 cancellation fee. If an event is canceled in its entirety, refunds will be issued to all juniors. If less than five holes are completed, refunds will be given on a pro-rated basis (entry less expenses). If five or more holes are completed, awards and points will be given out based on participant's score against par for the holes played and no refunds will be made. 2 Check‐InProcedure On-site check in will be mandatory for all participating at the event. Each junior will be required to check themselves in at registration. Parents will not be allowed to check in for their child. Juniors must check in 15 minutes before scheduled start time. GroupsandStartingTimes Groups and starting times will be available at the end of the next business day after the entry deadline. They will be posted to the Alabama – NW Florida PGA website; www.alabamanwfloridapga.com, e-mailed to the participants, and available at the host site. PairingsPolicy Pairings will be created based on the following procedure: 1. Every effort will be made to keep juniors playing within their respective age divisions and gender. 2. Juniors will be paired randomly within the respective age divisions. 3. Special requests will not be guaranteed. 4. Request to be paired with specific individuals will not be honored. CourseYardage The following will be general guidelines for course yardages at AL-NWFL PGA Junior Tour Events: Boys 10 to 12 - 2,500 to 2,800 Yards (9-Holes) Boys 13 to 15 - 6,000 to 6,600 Yards Boys 16 to 18 - 6,000 to 6,600 Yards Girls 10 to 12 - 2,500 to 2,800 Yards (9-Holes) Girls 13 to 15 - 5,000 to 5,600 Yards Girls 16 to 18 - 5,000 to 5,600 Yards Awards&PlayoffProcedure The top three (3) finishers at each event in each division will receive a AL-NWFL PGA Junior Tour Medal. In the event of a tie within an age division for first, second, or third place, the tie will be broken on the USGA recommended method for scorecard playoffs (last 9 holes, last 6 holes, last 3 holes or 18th hole). Junior Tour Championship Points will be split based on finish. JuniorTourChampionshipPoints The top three (15) juniors from each Division will qualify for the Alabama – NW Florida PGA Junior Tour Championship. If a player from the top 15 can't participate, the next player on the point list from that division will be offered his or her spot. Junior Tour Championship Points will be awarded for overall finish at each event. Points are as follows: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 100 points 80 points 70 points 65 points 60 points 55 points 50 points 45 points 9th 40 points 10th 35 points 11th 30 points 12th 25 points 13th 20 points 14th 15 points th 15 10 points *All ties will split points evenly. 3 DressCode Boys - Golf Shirts with a collar and slacks or Bermuda length shorts will be required. No jeans, gym shorts, tennis shorts or T-shirts are allowed. Girls - Golf Shirt (if sleeveless, must have a collar) and slacks or Bermuda length shorts (no more than 4 inches above the knee) will be required. No jeans, gym shorts, tennis shorts, tank tops, or bare midriffs are allowed. Metal spikes are not allowed. Players may wear shoes without spikes or tennis shoes. SpectatorGuidelines Spectators are welcome and encouraged to attend tournaments. Rules for Spectators are as follows: 1. Spectators using golf carts will be at the discretion of each individual site. Some courses rely on the carts for play and may not have carts available. Please make sure you call ahead of time at each facility to learn their cart rules. 2. Walking spectators must remain in the rough or on the golf cart paths at all times and must remain 15 yards away from any competitors. 3. Spectators are allowed to carry water, umbrellas, jackets, towels and food for competitors. 4. Spectators are not allowed to give advice to competitors. Violation will result in penalty or disqualification of competitor. Continued violations will result in removal of the Junior Tour. 5. Players shall not carry on conversations with spectators. This action could be construed as advice. Players will be penalized for violation. 6. Cell phones should be silenced. Please keep all conversations to a minimum and at a distance so that players will not be disrupted. 7. Players will be responsible for the actions of their spectators. CarefortheCourse All juniors are expected to maintain the golf course by repairing ball marks and raking sand bunkers etc. Any abuse to the golf course or any other part of the facility will result in immediate disqualification. All juniors and parents are encouraged to thank the host facility, staff and volunteers for their support of the Alabama – NW Florida PGA Junior Tour. PlayerConduct Any conduct that may be detrimental to the AL-NWFL PGA Junior Tour will not be tolerated including but not limited to swearing, club throwing or damage to the golf course or facility. Penalty for breach of this rule is 1 stroke for first violation and disqualification for second violation. Possession of alcohol or tobacco products, gambling and display of vulgar or abusive behavior will result in immediate disqualification. RulesViolationandCheating Rules violations will be determined by the tournament officials and/or the Executive Director or Tournament Director of the AL-NWFL PGA and handled as prescribed by the USGA Rules of Golf. lf you are suspected of cheating, measures will be taken to monitor your score during future Junior Tour events. lf a player is suspected of cheating or violating a rule of golf, the player should seek a Rules official as soon as possible to handle the situation. Violations might result in removal of the player from the AL-NWFL PGA Junior Tour. 4 ElectronicMeasuringDevices A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty for the first offense is 2 strokes and disqualification for any subsequent offense. Scoring There will be a double par limit on the number of strokes taken at each hole. NoCards Quitting or walking off the course will not be tolerated. ALL PLAYERS must turn their scorecard in at the completion of play. If a player leaves a tournament without turning in his/her scorecard, the player will lose all his/her player of the year points accumulated to date. Caddies/Advice Caddies are not permitted. Contestants must carry their own bag or use pull carts where permissible. Outside advice is not allowed during competition. Breach of this rule will result in disqualification. Weather It is the responsibility of each contestant to contact the club where an event is to be played in the case of inclement weather or conditions that would warrant rescheduling or cancellation of an event. PaceofPlay Pace of play will be strictly enforced. Details will be posted at each event. In the event a player can't complete the round in a timely manner the player will be removed from the event and a full refund will be issued. PracticeRounds Practice rounds will not be available through the Alabama – NW Florida PGA Junior Tour. Practice rounds may be made through the individual host sites and are subject to regular greens fees and availability at the facility. 5
