Nuclear Diving Services – Outside Plant Inspections & Maintenance
UESI has been providing numerous nuclear diving services for Energy Northwest (formerly
Washington Public Power Supply Service) since 1992. UESI has performed many nuclear
service water, plant intake inspections & maintenance, Condensate Storage Tank maintenance
& inspection, nuclear ASME Section XI Code nondestructive examinations (IWE & IWL
inside plant in immersion primary containment systems) and IWF component support
inspections in the Facility Cooling Spray Pond (photo insert right) at Columbia Station.
Outside plant diving service work has been performed simultaneously with inside
radiologically contaminated, nuclear safety related diving services such as Suppression Pool
cleaning, inspections, maintenance, repairs; Reactor steam dryer repairs (e.g. underwater
welding, crack mitigation) and underwater plant modifications (e.g. ECCS strainer
replacements, etc.).
