The 4th International Conference of Philosophy and Cognitive Science will take place November 7-8,
2013, on the South Campus of Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou, China.

The conference is co-organized by the Department of Philosophy, Sun Yat-sen University, China, and
the Department of Humanities, Philosophy Section, University of Pavia, Italy, with an assistance of the
Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Xiamen University, China.
The workshop also is an academic event that aims to promote field-to-field cooperation and exchange
between Chinese and European universities as well as between partners universities within the frame of
One More Step, a mobility project funded by the European Commission Under the Erasmus Mundus
programme, Action 2.

SUBMISSIONS
To participate to the conference, please submit an electronic version - formatted in Microsoft Word
or .RTF, or .PDF (in this last case please include source - .DOC, .TEX or other file) - of an extended
abstract (total word count approximately 1000-1200) or a 16-18 page (500 words per page) paper with an
English abstract. The abstracts will be used for the conference web site/booklet. No later than August 31,
2013 please send electronically the English and/or Chinese abstract/paper to the email addresses:

REGISTRATION & ACCOMMODATION
Please register by sending, together with the abstract/paper, an email containing the following information:
first and last name, institution, full address, phone, and email, and hotel room reservation.
To book a hotel room reservation, please indicate in the REGISTRATION email. Hotel price on the
campus: Euro 30-50.00. The campus hotels do NOT accept any international orders/reservations by phone
call or email.
HOW TO REACH SUN YAT-SEN UNIVERSITY
Conference site: #135 XinGang Xi Road, South Campus, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China.
There are three main kinds of city transport to the conference site from the airport or the railway
stations:
By a TAXI. This is the most convenient but expensive way. It costs about 20 euros from Guangzhou
Baiyun Airport. The trip usually takes less than 50 minutes.
By a bus. Take the Airport Express Bus Line 10 directly from the airport to the last station,
Guangzhou Baiyun Airport Exchange Park City Terminal, the opposite side of which is the West Gate of
the South Campus. This is a suggested convenient way without interchange and costs about 3 euros. The
trip usually takes near one hour.
By the Metro. It is a suggested and the cheapest way. It costs 1 to 2 euros.
• Guangzhou Baiyun Airport: Take Line 3 at the Airport S. Station; and then interchange Line 8
at Kecun Station to Sun Yat-sen University Station. The trip usually takes near one hour.
• Guangzhou East Railway Station: Take Line 3 at Guangzhou East Railway Station; and then
interchange Line 8 at Kecun Station to Sun Yat-sen University Station.
• Guangzhou Railway Station: Take Line 2 at Guangzhou Railway Station; and then interchange
Line 8 at Changgang Station to Sun Yat-sen University Station.
• Guangzhou South Railway Station: Take Line 2 at Guangzhou South Railway Station; and then
interchange Line 8 at Changgang Station to Sun Yat-sen University Station.
