Welcome to the FCLB Invitational!
We're excited to announce the return of the FCLB Invitational this August 6-7, 2016. Our tournament is an important
event for our club and we depend on every team to contribute and compete. To cover our venues and host a successful
tournament, we need 60% of our teams to volunteer as Field Marshalls. As we get closer to the event, the club will
provide more information and training on the tournament duties listed below.
Step One:
Coaches - consider registering your team to compete in the FCLB Invitational this August 6-7. Register
on-line today at fclongbeach.com and qualify for the FCLB team discount of $50. The success of the
event depends on each FCLB team to personally invite other club teams to compete.
Step Two:
Every team is required to volunteer for the tournament. Select your team's top two choices from the
Tournament Duties list. The Tournament Director will assign your team one tournament duty.
Step Three:
Submit the FCLB Invitational Team Volunteer Application by Friday, July 1, 2016. Mail or
email your team's completed application to Jennifer Cantrell.
Tournament Duties
1. Field Marshall $200 - $400 Entry Fee Rebate
Field Marshalls are the 7am - 7pm Saturday and Sunday customer service hubs of our tournament. Saturday field
marshall duties include registration table set-up and break-down, relining fields as necessary, field set-up and takedown, team check-in, facilitate match cards, concession sales, referee coordination, and friendly customer service as the
face of FCLB. Sunday field marshall duties are similar, but instead of team check-in, the duties include managing the
evolving game schedules, trophy distribution and the winners ceremony.
2. Field Preparation $100 - $200 Entry Fee Rebate
Our tournament takes place across 9 Long Beach venues. Each field needs to be prepared for match play one week prior
to the event. Field preparation includes marking fields from scratch, relining fields days prior, delivering flags/paint/nets
to fields in the early morning, identifying nets with field signage, evaluating field and equipment conditions and basic
field status reporting.
3. Snack Supplies, Bathroom and Trash
Provide one case of Gatorade, one case of water, and one bulk snack. Check venue bathrooms for cleanliness and toilet
paper. Also check venue trash levels at 8 am and 12 pm. Cleaning supplies, toilet paper and trash bags will be provided
by the club.
4. Tournament Sponsorship
Organize a tournament sponsor for the event. Opportunities include coordinating local eateries to invest in an upfront
flat fee or a percentage back to FCLB on proceeds over the tournament weekend. We also offer trophy advertising,
which involves engraving a company name on the back of the trophy and requires a significant upfront investment.

TEAM STATEMENT: I hereby acknowledge that the club requires each FCLB team to perform a
tournament duty for the FCLB Invitational 2016. The Tournament Director will consider our team's
tournament duty preference, but will coordinate assignments based on the tournament's needs.
This is an application only. Final tournament duty assignments will be communicated to our team
by the Tournament Director. A $500 team fine will be assessed to any team that does not perform
it's assigned tournament duty.
