Yonex Junior Welsh Nationals 2016 Registration Upon arriving to the hall please proceed to register at the Tournament Desk where the Tournament Organiser, Carissa Turner, and Referee, Stephen Temple, will be. Courts There will be 6 courts laid out horizontally and 2 practice/warm up courts at the end of the hall. 1 of the practice/warm up courts may be used for the Plate event should it be required. Shuttles Yonex AS 30 shuttles will be used throughout the tournament. Should players require a new shuttle the must bring the ‘old’ one back. Umpires Umpires will be used for all Finals. Scoring All matches in the Main Draws/Groups will be 3 games to 21 points with extended play to 30. Plate event matches will be 1 game to 21 with extended play to 30. Intervals Players are entitled to a 1 minute interval at 11 points in each set and a 2 minute interval at the end of each set. Knocking Up Before each match players are entitled to ‘knock up’ which will not exceed 3 minutes. Coaching Coaching is not permitted during the tournament. Clothing All clothing must be appropriate Badminton clothing and comply with the BWF Clothing Regulations which can be found under sections 19, 21, 22.1 – 22.22.2.5 and 23 of the below link; http://system.bwf.website/documents/folder_1_81/Regulations/GCR/Part%20III%20%20Section%201A%20-%20General%20Competition%20Regulations.pdf Plate Event The Plate Event only applies to the Singles categories in each Age Group. Players who lose their first round Singles match are eligible to compete in a plate event. Players will be entered in to this event upon their request. In order to be entered in to the Plate event, qualifying players must inform the Tournament Organiser and/or Referee that they wish to be entered. If no players request to compete in the Plate event it will not be played. Awards Winners and Runner Ups of each main event will receive a trophy, Winners and Runner Ups of the plate event will receive medals. Each Winners name will be engraved on the official Junior Nationals Shield/Cup/Plate for their age group. Any players wishing to take a Shield/Cup/Plate home for the year will need to sign for it and pay a security deposit of £25.00 to Badminton Wales which will be refunded upon the Shield/Cup/Plates return in January 2017. Payments/Refunds Payments and refunds will not be accepted on the competition days. All entry fee payments should be made prior to the tournament via cheque or online transfer to Badminton Wales. Cards In order to fall in line with other organisations Badminton Wales will begin issuing fines for players who receive a penalty card during Badminton Wales events. Players who receive a Yellow, Red or Black Card from an Umpire/Referee will be fined accordingly; Card Colour Yellow Red Black Immediate Consequence Warning Point awarded to opponent Disqualification Fine Total £20.00 £40.00 £80.00 Coaches at the relevant HP/DG centres will be informed should a player receive one of these penalties. Photography / Video Recording Photography In line with Badminton Wales’ Photographic/Recorded Images Policy, any person wishing to engage in any photography or videoing should complete a Photography and Video Recording Registration Form (Appendix 1) and hand it in to the Tournament Organiser before any photography/video is undertaken. Any unauthorised photographer who will not agree to these conditions may be reported to the appropriate authority. Photographs/videos will be taken at these events and Badminton Wales may use these photographs/videos for purposes including (but not restricted to) news items (both online and newspaper), marketing materials/outlets, education and training, player analysis, performance, development, selection and event promotion. If Parents/Guardians have any concerns with their child being photographed at our events please complete the Photography/Video Refusal of Consent Form, which can be found at the end of these conditions (Appendix 2). This form must be handed to the Tournament Organiser upon arrival at each event. Raffle Badminton Wales will be conducting a raffle during the event with prizes donated from Yonex. Tickets will be sold by the Tournament Organiser on both Saturday and Sunday of the event with the draw being done on the Sunday afternoon.
