Where/when Serena born?
o Serena was born in Saginaw, Michigan on Sept. 26,
1981. She lived in Compton, California when she was
young.
How did she become tennis player?
 Serena’s father wanted her and her sister Venus to
play tennis when they were young.
 When Serena was age five, she entered tournaments
and started becoming a star in the Southern
California junior league of tennis circuit.

 Serena and Venus started playing against each other
in 1999.
 Venus won while playing against her sister. Serena
and Venus were the first family members to win a
championship tournament.

won the Wimbledon U.S. Finals in
2002 and in 2003. Later, in 2005, Serena also
won the Australian Open.
