More learning opportunities in math!
Dear Parents,
We are pleased to tell you that we will be using a website called IXL for our 2014 summer work and in our
classroom this fall. IXL is a comprehensive math review site with an unlimited number of practice questions in
hundreds of skills—all of which are aligned to state standards. One of the best things about IXL is that your
child can access it from home, so you have a chance to see your child's progress!
To get your child started on your home computer, please follow these easy steps:
1. Go to www.IXL.com
2. Enter your child's username and password in the upper right corner and click the button to sign in.
Please find these on the following page.
3. Click on Math and select the assigned grade level. Then work on the indicated items in the categories below.

We want to challenge each student to join the 300/300 Club. That is, each student should at least have 300
problems completed over the entire summer and at least 300 minutes spent working on IXL.
Students should use the above as guidelines in their study of math this summer. Some students may feel the
need to review previous material, and others may want to try problems from categories that are not listed. Both
types of practice are encouraged. However, be sure some practice is done from the categories above.
We hope you'll encourage your son or daughter to use IXL daily. Here is to an excellent year in math!
