Selecting your child’s options on line using
MY CHILD

INTRODUCTION: Getting Started
For 1st time users of MY CHILD,
please go to the Polesworth
School website.
www.thepolesworthschool.com
On the Home page scroll down to
the MY CHILD window and double
click.
You should get the login screen for MY
CHILD. Please login with the username
and password issued to you by the
school via a letter.
If you do not know your user name and
password then please send an email to
[email protected]
with your name, address and child(s)
name or telephone the school on:01827 702205.
CHOOSING YOUR OPTIONS

Once you have logged in successfully you will see your home
page.
Select the drop down for ‘Welcome to My Child’
Then please select ‘Choose Options’
The Art Option: this is a separate set of
options because it contains two Art courses.
**NOTE If you DO NOT wish to do Art please
skip to the next page.
You may choose only one art course, you will
not be permitted to do both. Which means
either a MAIN Option or RESERVE Option (The
art courses are in the main options tab as well
and should only be used to make reserve
choice)
FIRST OPTIONS TAB Yr9 Art Fine Or Time Based Media
Please pick either Fine Art or Time Based media as your Main Option from this tab.
If you wish to have an Art course as a reserve
and not a main option please proceed and
choose your main options first then in the ‘Yr9
Main Options Tab’ select either Art course as a
reserve.
Click on
course.

** NOTE Remember this counts as one of
your main choices. If you select an Art course
from this tab you are only permitted to pick
one main course from the Yr 9 Main Options
Choice tab.
It will then come up with a
box that says :“How do you want to add
the option?”
there is only one selection,
“Main Option” press OK.
OPTIONS TAB 2 Yr 9 Geography & History
This a compulsory option that must be made
in addition to your child’s main options.
Please select either History or Geography
by pressing the add button next to the option.
Again It will then come up with
a box that says :“How do you want to add the
option?”
There is only one selection,
“Main Option” Press OK.
The 3rd Options Tab is “Yr 9 Options
Main Choice” tab.
Select your main options here just as
before .
OPTIONS TAB 3 Yr 9 Options Main Choices
Once this has been done click the “Yr 9
Options Main Choice” tab.
Select your next option. Again it will only
give you the Main option as a selection.
Remember if you have selected an ART
option from The tab ‘ART-Fine & Time
Based Media’ this counts as one of your
main options. Please only select one
other Main Option from the Yr 9 Options Main Choices tab and select
‘RESERVE’ for all other options, this is
only if you have selected ART from the
Art Options Tab.
Now make your second main choice.
The second Add Options box that appears
will look slightly different to the previous
one. It will give you two choices .


Reserve Option
Select :- Main Option.
The Main options from this Tab should then appear in the
“Current Choices” column. Your Geog/History choice will
appear on its own tab and like wise for an Art option if it has
been selected.
You should also be able to view all of
your Choices at the top of the page
In the “Choices Summary” area
Now make your second main choice.
The second Add Options box that appears
will look slightly different to the previous
one it will give you two choices .


Reserve Option
Select :- Main Option.
RESERVE OPTIONS
Once the main options have been chosen you
can then make your reserve option choices.
Use the same method as before, except use
the only option available
Reserve Option.
Each choice after the two main options have
been selected will automatically default to
“Reserve Option” when added.
If at any point you wish to change any options
selected just click the
red X next to the option.
Do not forget you will have to go to each respective tab to delete your additional options,
your Geog/History selection or if you have
picked Art.
Your changes are automatically saved.
You can make changes right up to the deadline date of 10th March, Midnight.
