Job Title: Peer Circles Project Manager Responsible to: Quality & Operations Manager Salary: Band 5 Hours: Full time Location: TBA Background: Peer Circles will provide support and activities for people with complex needs and severe and multiple disadvantaged in order to enable participants to develop improved employability skills and progress into sustainable employment. The partnership lead by St Giles Trust contains five other organisations; Evolve, Look Ahead Care, Shelter. CGL and Warrior. The project will be delivered across the Central and South London boroughs funded by Big Lottery Building Better Opportunities (European Social Fund) from January 2017 to December 2019. The partners will work with 571 participants, offering a client-centred approach, personalised to meet individual requirements, while addressing wider barriers and issues, as well as employability and readiness for employment. The goal is to support people to move into employment and sustain this. Peer Advisors will play an important part in engaging and supporting participants and making the project a success. They will be recruited from the participant group, and trained and supported by the project, to achieve the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance. Purpose: Provide overall management and leadership to the Peer Circles project and partners, and be responsible for ensuring it’s success. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Provide overall project and partnership management for Peer Circles, including ensuring that all performance targets and outcomes and budget are achieved in accordance with the agreed project profile. 2. Ensure that the project delivers a high quality service that responds to participant feedback and has gender equality and equalities embedded within them. October 2016 3. Provide direct line management to the SGT delivery staff 4. Develop close working relationships with partner delivery staff, their managers and representatives at partnership meetings, with a view to ensuring that the various elements and activities of the project are successfully delivered. 5. Ensure that all partners maintains effective IT and paper based processes for collecting and recording information, which provides evidence in accordance with BBO and ESF requirements. 6. Carry out auditing of monthly participant information and support teams and partners to ensure compliance with requirements 7. Manage and address any under-performance according to the established profiles partnership agreement and protocols. 8. Work closely with SGT and partners’ Finance teams to obtain accurate and timely financial reporting of the project. 9. Be the lead contact with BBO and be responsible for submission of quarterly reports, addressing any queries, and providing all required information. 10. Develop effective partnership with project partners, organising regular partnership meetings, and also develop positive relationships with wider stakeholders such as other BBO projects. 11. Ensure that regular participant feedback is obtained, responded to and action communicated. 12. Be the project lead for compliance with Matrix standards, promoting and ensuring that the project works to and evidences this. 13. Organise and coordinate the project’s evaluation activities liaising with other stakeholders. 14. Contribute to identifying future opportunities to help make the project sustainable. 15. Contribute to SGT management team, attending meetings, and liaising with other projects to promote the aims and values of the organisation. 16. Carry out other similar tasks as directed by manager and work at all times to St Giles Trust code of conduct. Person Specification Essential 1. Substantial experience of establishing and managing projects to ensure the required outcomes and targets are achieved 2. Proven ability to build collaborative relationships internally and with external partners October 2016 3. Substantial experience of managing contractual and performance management requirements 4. Substantial experience of supporting very disadvantaged adults to improve their employability and progress into sustainable employment. 5. An excellent understanding of the issues faced by people with complex needs/severe & multiple disadvantage, and best practice in providing relevant employment support. 6. Experience of motivating and providing line management to a diverse team of paid staff and volunteers and commitment to Peer Advisor approach. 7. Ability to manage budgets and maintain accurate records of expenditure 8. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and other managers, to demonstrate leadership and to resolve conflicts of interest professionally 9. Ability to set up and operate systems to monitor and report on work 10. Strong IT skills with an ability to oversee the use of a case management database and produce reports 11. Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to produce a range of accurate and well written reports 12. Strong understanding of gender equalities and equal opportunities. Ability to provide leadership on this for the project and contribute to St Giles Trust’s overall commitment to equal opportunities. Desirable 1.
