Unit Objectives
TSWBAT (The student will be able to…)
Psychomotor:
1. Demonstrate a clear difference between a skip and gallop when instructed to do so
during specific activities by alternating feet during skipping and keeping lead foot
in front during galloping.
Cognitive:
1. Distinguish which animals represent specific locomotive movements when
examined on written assessment.
2. Clarify which animals are able to move at different speeds and level dependent on
the animals shown.
Affective:
1. Cooperates and demonstrate appropriate behavior of how to treat others that may
be at a higher or lower level of ability.
2. Represent appropriate behavior of doing one’s best during each activity by
examining one’s own behavior using the five, four, three, two or one system.

Assessments:
How will you be assessing your students to see if your students reached your Unit Objectives?
Psychomotor:
 During activities the student is able to clearly demonstrate a difference between their
skips and gallops
 Skip- look for a clear step, hop, land, and student is able to alternate between feet
 Gallop- Student keeps lead foot in front and pointed in the direction that they are
moving…trail leg does not pass lead foot.
Cognitive:
Affective:
 Students demonstrate ability to cooperate, follow rules and appreciate peers while on
their team even if their skills may be lacking.
Materials needed for each activity
1. Relays- Six baskets, ten items per pair
2. Cats in the Corner- Four marked corners/ cones, one noodle
3. Gargoyles- playing area, poly dots
4. Loose Caboose- playing area
5. Fox and Sheep
6. Black and White- Playing area/ end lines, Frisbee with one side marked white and one side
black…colors truly don’t matter, just need to be able to depict between the two.
7. Tunnel Tag- Playing area, noodle
8. Everybody’s It- Playing area with four designated cones marked
