COURT ADMISSIONS
Robert Carlton leverages his broad base of dispute resolution experience to serve clients
across a broad range of industries by digesting his client’s issues and coming up with a
sound litigation strategy that takes into account both business and legal considerations.
Robert has represented clients in federal and state courts across the country. He has also
represented clients in front of both domestic and international arbitral tribunals. Robert is
particularly adept at navigating the various nuances of international arbitration,
representing clients in front of the ICC, ICDR, and other arbitral bodies.
Robert uses his experience before a wide array of forums to provide a full range of dispute
resolution skills. For example, Robert has represented a Fortune 100 company in a number
of construction disputes around the country. He has represented a small independent oil
and gas company against a large midstream company that presented novel legal and
factual issues surrounding a subsurface trespass dispute. He has also represented a large
oilfield services company in an international arbitration arising out of its relationship with its
former business associate in Central Asia.
Robert represents clients of all sizes and from diverse industries. His clients include one of
the four largest banks in the country, a Fortune 100 Oil and Gas Company, a Fortune 500
international oilfield services company, the largest fertilizer manufacturer in the world, a
former CEO of one of the largest broker-dealers in the country, an international turbine
company, multiple independent oil and gas companies of varying sizes, and the owner of
one of the premier hotels in Texas.
Robert is active in the community, donating his time to a number of civic and bar
organizations. Robert is particularly active in the Anti-Defamation League, Southwest
Region, where he is a member of the ADL’s regional board, serves as Chair-Emeritus of its
Glass Leadership Institute, and serves on its National Leadership 2020 Committee. Robert
is also active with the Emory University Alumni Association.
