SECTION 1: - Destination Occupation

I have had several requests to compile a list of the current career videos featured on
Destination Occupation and here it is! The list is broken into three sections:
● Section 1 features individuals who are a part of a company series (listed
alphabetically).
● Section 2 lists the career videos from Rachel’s Solo Video ventures.
● Section 3 lists the career videos featured on Destination Occupation’s Youtube
channel.
Each person featured explains a variety of things from important skills that are needed
to do their job, to what education or training is necessary, to why that job is a good fit for
them. Some videos are very focused on what that person does in their job (sort of a
day in the life), others tell more of a story. Ideally, after watching several (or all) of our
videos, viewers will be in a position to make a better informed career choice.
There are links provided to associated pages on Destination Occupation and for videos
only on Youtube, those links are provided as well.

progress! It can be a little scary to put your work “out there” especially if it has some

SECTION 3:
NEW VIDEO SERIES ON YOUTUBE!
“Under 3 in Under 30”
This series had been on my mind to produce for some time. Finally I got the chance to
act on this idea when I got an intern from Baxter Academy and felt the time was right to
try it out. The mission of these videos is to illustrate the intrinsic value of ALL WORK. I
believe that every job is important to both the individual who performs that job and to the
community that person works in.
The videos are meant to have a more “real” feel to them. They are “under 3” minutes in
length and get edited in “under 30” minutes. We film and edit right on an IPhone (edit
using IMovie app), then upload to Destination Occupation’s Youtube and social media
accounts. These videos are really fun to make!
Pedi-Cab - Sam, Portland. This was our proof of concept video. In this you see a bit of
what Sam does and hear him talk about why working as a “bike” cabbie (Pedi-Cab)
makes sense for him.
Night time Supervisor - Daniel - Flatbread Pizza, Portland. Daniel talks about why
location matters, why what he does is important and why his job is important to him.
You get to see a cool wood fired oven and some pizza making in action, too.
Deckhand - Ali - Casco Bay Lines, Portland. Ali explains a few of his tasks as a
deckhand, how safety is important, and that he has future plans to work in IT.
Captain/Deckhand - Jeff - Casco Bay Lines, Portland. Jeff talks about how his job has
many layers to it and how working there is like having a family.
Bartender - Nikole - Portland Pie Company, Portland. Nikole explains the soft skills that
are important to serving the public in her job as a bartender. (This was Chloe’s first turn
at interviewing, filming and editing start to finish!)
Field Engineer - Tyler - Winxnet, Portland. Tyler describes what he does at Winxnet,
why what he does is important to his clients and why he likes his job. (Chloe goes
mostly solo on this one! I filmed a little b-roll for it.)
