SOUND GLOBAL WON THE BID FOR THE BOT PROJECTS FOR THE WATER SUPPLY PLANT
AND THE MUNICIPAL SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT IN THE CHANGBAI MOUNTAIN
WILDLIFE PROTECTION AND DEVELOPMENT AREA
Sound Global Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Sound Global” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that
Sound Global has won the bid for the BOT (Build, Operate and Transfer) projects for the water supply plant and
the municipal sewage treatment plant (upgrading and transformation) in the Changbai Mountain Wildlife
Protection and Development Area in Jilin Province, China.
The BOT project for the water supply plant is located in the Changbai Mountain Wildlife Protection and
Development Area in Jilin Province, which will be invested and constructed by Sound Global The short-term
designed water supply capacity of the project will be 20,000 m3/per day. The plant will be invested, built,
operated and transferred by the Company as a BOT project. Total investment amount of the project is
approximately RMB44.56 million. It has been granted a concession period of 30 years. Construction of the project
will be of great significance to water protection, tourism development and sustainable economic growth of the
Changbai Mountain Wildlife Protection and Development Area.
The BOT project for the municipal sewage treatment plant is located in the Changbai Mountain Wildlife
Protection and Development Area in Jilin Province, which will be invested and constructed by Sound Global. The
short-term designed sewage treatment capacity of the project will be 15,000 m3/per day. The project involves
upgrading and transformation of the sewage treatment plant and improvement of part of its ancillary pipelines,
and will be invested, built, operated and transferred by the Company as a ROT project. Total investment amount
of the project is approximately RMB50.00 million. It has been granted a concession period of 30 years.
Construction of the project will be of great significance to water protection, energy conservation, emissions
reduction and sustainable development of the Changbai Mountain Wildlife Protection and Development Area.
Mr. Wen Yibo, Chairman of Sound Global, comments that Sound Global has continued to make new
achievements after the successful bid for a number of sewage treatment BOT projects in Jiangsu, Hebei and
Fujian recently. The successful bids for the BOT projects for the water supply plant and the municipal sewage
treatment plant in the Changbai Mountain Wildlife Protection and Development Area will have significant
positive impact on the water market in China, especially in Northeastern China. Sound Global will fully leverage
on its competitive edge in technology, capital, management and complete industry chain to provide effective
solutions for safe supply of drinking water and prevention and treatment of sewage in the region. In addition,
Sound Global, as a leader in China’s water industry, will achieve steady and sustainable development in the
domestic water market.
None of the Directors or substantial shareholders of the Company has any direct or indirect interest (other than
through their shareholdings in the Company) in the above-mentioned transaction.
The accounting treatment for this project will be the same as that of our previous BOT projects. This transaction is
not expected to have any material impact on the net earnings per share and the net tangible assets per share of the
Company for the financial year ended 31 December 2014.
