INTERVIEW: PLANTS and WATER

CHALLENGE 1
SOUTH FLORIDA INVASIVES
For individuals or groups; maximum points: 300 (100 per design)
YOUR CHALLENGE: As stewards of island Earth, we are responsible for taking care of its incredibly
diverse resources. Plants form the base of nearly all ecosystems and provide a host of services to
humankind and our planet as a whole. However, certain plants can become established in areas
where they are not naturally found, harming native flora and fauna. Read about an invasive plant in
South Florida to discover why it is considered invasive and how it affects its new environment.
Showing what you learned, depict an invasive plant invading a South Florida ecosystem.
