SUCCESS WITH AUTOGRAPHE SA
Specialised car fit-out company,
Autographe SA has recently upgraded
the lighting at its 26,000m² factory
in Wavre, Belgium and installed a
combination of Sylvania’s energy
efficient Fast Trunking System (FTS)
and Sylproof waterproof luminaires.
The new lighting scheme is reducing
running costs for the company as well as
ensuring they have optimum light levels
for their detailed and skilled work.
The company has been fitting-out
commercial and emergency vehicles
such as police cars, ambulances and
fire trucks since 1975 and is the market
leader in Belgium. It is primarily a family
business, where staff welfare and comfort
is a top priority. The management, today
comprising Bernard de Saint Hubert and his
two sons, Mathieu and Renaud,

is convinced that the basis of the
company’s success is linked to the
professionalism and attention to
detail of the staff. For over 40 years,
Autographe has been run on two key
principles: flexibility and professionalism.
From single vehicles right through to
mass production, Autographe delivers
more than 1200 vehicles a year.
Autographe’s services require a high
level of attention to detail including the
layout and lettering on the vehicles which
requires high light levels. The new lighting
scheme required light levels of a minimum
of 750lx to guarantee the quality of the
work in the production hall. An additional
requirement was that the luminaires had to
be suspended and using cool white light
in order for employees to correctly carry
out the precision work.

These exacting performance requirements
were ably met with the combination of
luminaires from the Sylvania Range from
Havells Sylvania. The Sylvania FTS was
specified supplemented with Sylproof
Superia LED waterproof luminaires on
the walls. In total, 636 FTS modules were
suspended in the hall and 22 Sylproof
Superia LED waterproof luminaires were
installed by electrical engineer, Nizet SA.
The FTS is a fast-fit, T5 fluorescent lighting
system that is ideal for large, open space
applications such as retail superstores
and warehouses. The luminaires can be

surface-mounted or suspended with single
or double T5 lamps (35W, 49W and 80W)
with a wide choice of reflectors available
for maximum output flexibility. The system’s
modular components combine to create a
complete, linear lighting system. The main
module comes in two lengths – 1500 or
3000mm – with ‘T’ ‘L’ and ‘X’ connectors
and end caps adding to the system’s design
flexibility. Each pre-wired module is DALI
compatible with electrical connection
via a fast-connect system. Plug-and-play
internal electrical connectors and the quick
mechanical connection system ensure fast,
reliable and flexible installation.
