The Steel Blue Superbike line-up is one of the most talented that the state series has seen for sometime with no less than 9 A grade riders competing. WA superbike riders were challenged by national superbike rider Daniel Stauffer from Queensland who is guest rider this season for the Warp Speed BMW Team. Local ace Mark Schnierer took pole position in qualifying but Stauffer took all three race wins from a hard charging Jamie Boland ((Weld West Kawasaki ZX10). This round it is expected that the WA riders will step up a notch not wanting to let Stauffer take control. Boland, Ralph Mammoliti (Causeway Kawasaki ZX10R), Mark Schnierer (Causeway Rider Training Honda CBR1000) and both Ben (Allight BMW Autoclassic ) and Cameron Stronach (Wattsy’s Motorsport BMW Autoclassic) riders will all be out to challenge for the top three positions. The Stronach’s recent test day on the BMW’s produced some good results with both riders getting into the 57 sec lap times. Lubi Safrenak (Dynapumps WTF Racing Honda CBR1000) is another rider to watch. He leads the B Grade Series with fellow competitor Mark Gill (Plumbsmart Honda 1000) leading the C Grade Superbike Series. Up and coming Mason Coote (Wattsy’s Motorsport Yamaha R6) will take advantage of learning from these two front runners as will Alex Scaglioni who returns after a spectacular fall last round. Overall WesTrac Supersport Championship: C Casella 65pts, J Trigwell 63, M Coote 54, J Coyle 52. A number of new season riders have shown great potential in the Industrial People Clubman Classes for both 600cc and 1000cc with some taking out podium placings at their first state round and moving from D to C grade. Nicky Weightman (National Lintels Ducati 1098) took a good strong 2nd placing to the experienced Mick Moralee with Robin Huth coming in 3rd.
